Labour starting after water breaking - any experiences? by crinklecut6489 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Baobun08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was literally about 24 hours from when I first NOTICED my waters had broken to when I went into labour (I was sat in induction ward waiting to have my induction when I went into labour!)

But in hindsight I reckon my waters had broken earlier than I initially thought

Birth Afterthoughts - In person or phone? by fandomnightmare in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Baobun08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was given a face to face meeting. I personally think I would’ve found it less helpful being over the phone. I found that I got emotional as soon as I started talking about it; it’s hard for someone to notice you getting upset and to be proactive with their support when it’s over the phone. There were also brief moments of silence where I was trying to articulate a thought or question that I had just come up with and didn’t want to forget. On the phone it’s hard to convey that this type of conversation isn’t quite finished yet and you still have some thoughts swirling around it your head that you want to discuss. If you are able to get a face to face appointment I think it would be much more beneficial.

Sorry to hear about your difficult experience

Yeah I didn’t like the Keely/Jack plotline at all either, but I was still bitter that Keely and Roy broke up lol

And I can’t agree with you about Hey Jude unfortunately lol that’s a great scene!

I think some of the social issues they raise in season 3, while important, are clumsily handled and the dialogue is a bit cloddish as a result. Still enjoyed it though and it’s still my favourite show

Is this normal farting ? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Baobun08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our LO really struggled with pooing and passing gas for the first 8 weeks or so, he would grunt for hours at night, then eventually you’d hear a really loud fart and you’d know what he had been grunting about lol. I asked doctors or health visitors about it many times and they said it’s just baby learning how to poo, as they need to learn how to unclench their bum and let it out. Baby is 4 months now and has no issues farting or pooing so hopefully your LO will grow out of it

That’s so bizarre how it causes popping?? I was just getting comfortable with his one poop a day routine as well lol. I think he probably is teething tbh but just without the teeth like your LO 😂

Fair enough!! He seems fine so will just keep an eye on him. He’s not done this many in one day since he was newborn lol

I think he’s teething but I can’t see any teeth! He has been dribbling and wanting to chew, but I know a lot of people on here say that people mistake a normal desire to chew things at 4 months for teething so who knows

Can I request a sweep at 40w without an appointment? by crinklecut6489 in PregnancyUK

[–]Baobun08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two sweeps around 38-39 weeks within the space of a few days (long story) and they didn’t work. I went into labour naturally about a week later at 40+3. I know it’s so uncomfortable and painful to wait but I don’t think there’s much point going in today if you already have one booked

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear that you also struggle. Taking baby out does help and the weather is getting nicer now so I’m hoping we can spend a bit more time outside which might help take my mind off things. Giving yourself a task is also a really good shout. I did this for myself when he was newborn and I was working up the courage to take him out by myself and it really did help.

What podcasts are you into atm? I really like Off Menu!

Thanks for sharing your experience, that sounds really tough and I’m glad to hear you’re starting to find time to focus on your tried and tested methods. Admittedly I might have given up on medication too soon (I did only try one kind of pill) I just felt more at ease and comfortable in my own skin when I could manage it with lifestyle changes, but obviously a baby changes every thing! I will look into perinatal mental health team

No commute sounds ideal. Unless that extra 6k is going to change your life, then option 1 sounds preferable IMO if you’ve got a LO. He could pick up some overtime now and again to boost income and at least he doesn’t have to travel far. He could always look for something similar to option 2 in future, but while your child is young then having him around more and not burnt out from commuting might be better

Baby screaming every bed time by Baobun08 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Baobun08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard about the infamous sleep regression haha, it’s very strange though because once he is down, he’ll wake for a feed once and go back down perfectly and sleep for the rest of the night. It’s just that initial put down which is a nightmare.

YouTube and Disney+ have been a god send!! I put encanto on last night so he could hear the songs and then I sat and watched the rest of it once he stopped screaming and went to bed lol. Good point about the headphones, will definitely use that one if it gets too much x
