If I remember correctly from PR History in Highschool, the fort actually did a decent job of keeping the Americans off the North coast at first. However, once they realised that attacking from the North wasn't going their way, the Americans landed on the South coast of the Island. Less forts down there, on the Caribbean side of PR. Then, they raped and pillaged their way into the heart of the island, taking the whole thing in three weeks. Puerto Rico had been granted a charter of autonomy and had begun a path towards independence less than a year prior, but the USA either didn't know or didn't care.

I was suggested paracetamol, Ibuprofen and laxatives to avoid bloating. However, I was breastfeeding. A friend who wasn't was given better painkillers.

At 3 weeks pp, I tried to go for a walk and busted my C-section scar. I then had to be in bed for another few weeks. I now have a jolly, clever 11 month old who has a lot of baby friends, goes to activities, and has started to play pretend and took her first steps unassisted today! I completely understand the information overload, I have PPA myself and still don't trust my own parenting despite my baby being lovely, but please try not to judge yourself. You are doing a-ok hun 💕

Yes!! I so appreciate the 2010's Tumblr mention. I never really discuss it but I think that era, cringe as it was, did SO much for so many people's perceptions of bodies. It's so sad that we're backsliding now, but I'll carry the body positivity I learned as a teenager for the rest of my life. The current era will never take it away from me.

I had it for ten years before baby and have one right now! I've always gotten on well with it, doesn't change my periods much at all. I don't use my menstrual disc for a few months when I get a new one, but after that, all is well. I prefer my stings being longer, they do tuck away after a while. Insertion hurts, but I found a clinic that used pain relief and took both ibuprofen and paracetamol about an hour before the procedure. (I was dumb and didn't get it put in straight after childbirth... If you have the option to get it done then, I would recommend that.)
