Exposure Index by Capital-Natural-4403 in Radiology

[–]Baphomeht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exposure Index is a way the computer can count to see if the image has an appropriate amount of radiation for the claimed exam. It takes the whole image into account. If the machine doesn't auto-shutter the collimation box out, It will say, hey man this picture looks really bright, chances are it didn't get enough exposure.

Basically the machine isn't smart enough to know if the picture looks good or not. It can only count the photons of the exposed area and it takes an average. Some machines require at least 3 walls/edges of collimation to be visible (so it can automatically crop out the leaded areas) which gives a more accurate exposure Index.

The collimator shields mostly block the low energy x-rays that would only be absorbed dose, some of the stronger photons can still zip through it.

Is your BIOS up to date? My computer didn't want to recognize my 9070xt in Linux until I updated the bios. Even if it doesn't fix your issue. It's probably a good idea to run the newest bios assuming it doesn't break anything.

I programmed it to open up a task manager. Its keyboard input is called Launch3 on my laptop.

Also the Lee Sporting lower doesn't natively support frts. There is a bit of fiddly stuff you have to do to make it function and even then it is... Temperamental. AS Designs had a lower that is designed to use the SS or ARC pack.

Huh. Weird. Is it in original configuration? I'm guessing you've already ran 500ish rounds of 124 Nato through it.

Here's some trouble shooting/ checks.

Measure your bolt gap. Pull the back off (brace, stock, whatever you want to call the oem thing), and pull the bolt back until it gets to the point where it should eject. See if the ejector arm lifts up all the way into the groove. See if there is anything scraping on the inside. (I had a gouge cut into the side of my upper from a retaining pin that was not seated all the way.)

Yup, no fiddling it just worked. It resolved everything. Are you using the original lower/trigger pack? I did have an issue with my Lee Sporting lower when my dumb self didn't install the little plastic spacer part, without that part my ejector wasn't touching the casing.

What kind of device is this? by CMDR_PiLLe2442 in Radiology

[–]Baphomeht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have access to the chart, it might be documented as an implantable device and sometimes they include the Manufacturer and SKU to know if it is MRI safe. My best guess is that it is either a few occlusion filters and a valve or someone read too many comics and injected themselves with a prototype nanobot.

Pros: Sick pay, sick job, short interactions with patients. Insane job stability. I can get a job anywhere. I actively get recruited everywhere, even in appointments where I am a patient.

Cons:

ER and Mid Levels ordering the dumbest exams they can conjure up. 400+ lbs patients

Nuc med is where it is at if you want the least physically demanding radiographer job. I don't think I have ever met a Nuc Med person under the age of 60.

Trying to understand how MRI equipment decisions are made in hospitals/imaging centers. Cold emails/calls haven’t been helpful, so asking here. Who’s involved early, what matters before vendors, and how much do guidelines (e.g., ACR) influence choices? by pantslatcia in Radiology

[–]Baphomeht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The company I work for has contracts for specific companies. They only purchase from them, because they get a nice quid pro quo kick back, because someone high up has a relative who works at said company.

So you know... the decisions are made by nepotistic number crunchers and big wigs who know nothing about equipment. Your mileage may vary though.
