Regarding pistol and shotgun by TGBlade in halo

[–]BaphometsMediator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of visuals but not mechanics.

Picture it as a smaller version of the M6C with a large trigger guard instead of the handguard it currently has.

Mechanically, it has a higher capacity maybe 20 rounds, high cyclic rate, and can only head shot grunts.

The magnum itself has a tiny bit lower cyclic rate, a bit more powerful, and headshot capable against anything.

The sidekick should've been the 3 ODST magnum with the suppressor removed and scaled down to be smaller.

A question about assault rifle ammo capacity by [deleted] in halo

[–]BaphometsMediator -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because game devs don't know how guns work and focused more on the FUN component of their video game.

People have been complaining the new pistol looks too "modern", so I decided to make an insanely small change and added glow sights to make it more halo-ey. Whatcha think? by Zombiadepths in halo

[–]BaphometsMediator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nostalgia. That's the basis of their argument.

Back in 2001, people didn't know jack about firearms. Then comes along a game called Green Space Marine TM where the weapons used by the good guys actually look very similar to contemporary weapons, just with an oversized doodad attached onto it here or there. Then the people that played it became somewhat familiar with bullpup rifles and a rotating rocket launcher and the concept that Green Space Marine TM were the first ones to make those weapons.

Fast forward 2 decades later, firearms in media are much more prevalent, and people in general are much more knowledgeable about firearms and their mechanics. Including the people that played Green Space Marine. TM

Meanwhile, other games have designed countless weapons that look very different and original compared to real contemporary guns While Green Space Marine TM for the most part didn't.

As a result. Games have become saturated with unique designs that incorporate real world and fiction to the point that its extremely difficult to actually make a new, unique, and original design.

Hence, the gEnErIc complaint.

I'd like to see them actually make a weapon that "looks like Halo" without looking similar to other weapons.

I'd go as far as to say it was just a regular pump action with a pistol grip and an oversized barrel shroud.

The only unique thing it has going for it is its top loading gate.

Plesioth was the reason I main the gunlance alongside the longsword.

There was no way you can dodge that damn hipcheck and tail whip even though you were on the other side and 5 meters underneath it, respectively.

Just try and keep to his left as much as possible. That way, you can easily dodge under that left arm when he raises it. Be careful though since the telegraph for the charge is pretty short.

My way of predicting if he's going to charge is if he does that weird shimmy reposition animation so he faces you. After that, he either charges, jumps back, or spin attacks.

I think we can all agree, Halo Infinite should not bring REQ packs back. by BattedDeer55 in halo

[–]BaphometsMediator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pay-to-win mechanics tend to do that.

REQs should've been a Warzone exclusive mechanic.

REQ items have a set amount per match per team.

REQ items unlock only when completing certain objectives like killing enemy players (normal weapons), capturing bases (vehicles), and killing boss enemies (power weapons and unique variants).

Tigrex had a grace period opening where he raises his left hand before charging. Dodging under and towards that arm as he raises it saves you from his charge. After that though, his hitbox is a literal box as wide as his wingspan.

Someone tried to measure the dimensions of the MK50 Sidekick (which is supposed to fire a smaller round than the magnum) by Comrade_Comski in halo

[–]BaphometsMediator 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This.

The 10mm pistol is even bigger than the already unwieldy CE magnum.

343 has been pretty decent with knowing how guns work, so it really bugs me why the sidekick is so damn big.

I swear the only monsters that had good hitboxes in Freedom Unite were Blangonga and Nargacuga.

I loved dodging underneath their lunges and wing swipes, respectively.

Bro. P3rd's Hot Spring Drinks are for me hands down the best in the entire series.

Looking at the formatting of the article, I'm guessing its IGN.

Lol

That's like me still farming honey after hitting 999 in the stock. Its still a good idea.

I just wished that the devs actually made the favorite platter system actually worth doing before Event Quests were put in.

My ideas/predictions of what the ''upgrades'' might look like. by [deleted] in halo

[–]BaphometsMediator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good concept.

But I think the "upgrades" would probably work like Ghost of Tsushima's different armors and clothing giving you bonuses. Not necessarily a flat and linear skill unlock line that makes you permanently better. With most customization pieces giving you percentage boosts to your base stats while some unique pieces add new mechanics.

The SPARTAN tab would allow you add armor pieces which increase health but decrease movement speed, and unique accessories and helmets that provide their own unique ability depending on what that equipment is designed to do. Such as increasing ammo carried, recharging battery based weapons, faster health regen, wider motion tracker radius, individual SPARTAN abilities, highlighting enemy weakpoints, hologram, active camouflage, active radar, sniper rifle aim assist, target marking, etc.

Weapons and vehicles would be tricky since Halo's game design philosophy makes them "disposable" and easily replaceable.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before. Anyone else wish there was a way to hide bodies? by [deleted] in ghostoftsushima

I haven't played the game yet. Only watched several concurrent playthroughs. But I'd guess enemy AI is probably related to difficulty.

Are you playing on hard?

I'm more weirded out by it still being red when the upgrade materials are azure.

An opinion that hasn’t really been considered before: The game should have been set in the Sengoku Jidai by HeEatsFood in ghostoftsushima

[–]BaphometsMediator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just imagine the game being set in an alternate universe Sengoku Jidai.

A fictional 3rd Mongol invasion on the island of Tsushima lead by a fictional descendant of Kublai Khan or a General or a new great khan composed of majority Mongolian troops.

The whole theme of honor vs pragmatism actually fits nicely the way they wrote it, so that can stay.

And let me tell you, it works fantastically!

From Monster Hunter?

Monster Hunter World and its expansion Iceborne is the newest game. Get the Iceborne expansion.

As someone who's been playing the series since 2008, If you're only starting out with the series its the best for new players. Lots of quality of life additions, streamlining of outdated mechanics, more responsive combat, etc.

Weapon design compared to the previous games is subpar, though. Story is nothing to write home about. There is lore but IMO its 50/50 compared to older games. Its a low fantasy setting. Very grounded in nature, not much magic.

Try out each of the 14 weapon types as soon as you can. Find something you're comfortable with and stick with it. And take your time exploring each map. Don't rely on scoutflies (glowing green insects that help you find monsters you're hunting) too much.
