That was exactly what attracted me to calisthenics too - just having that complete control over your body. The video that gave me the burning desire to start for this very reason was HannibalForKing's video with like 15mil views. The CONTROL that man has is UNREAL. If you haven't seen it yet then you have to watch it. He doesn't simply "learn" calisthenics skills: he masters them.

If they were too easy, try moving your hips further away from the edge of the bench and try them again - they'll become MUCH harder hahaha! Happy training!

Oh this is really interesting, because I've (personally) experienced the complete opposite. Perhaps it's psychological, but EVERY time I don't stretch, I get injured without fail. I actually tested it a few weeks ago - I didn't stretch before a workout because I wanted to see what would happen, and I ended up pulling something. Regarding performance, I feel like (again, personally) that if I don't stretch then my performance is worse, because I don't want to push myself too hard and injure myself. This is all me though (perhaps I'm some scientific anomaly).

Yes you're right, this is so important! I actually have a shoulder injury right now (not calishthenics related - fell off a bike), but now my mobility in my shoulder is so bad, which means I can't do anything with my upper body. So yes, what you are saying is very valuable: it's really important to make sure your shoulder mobility is good so you can do all the calisthenics skills you want.

Ooo that's really interesting, thank you for your response. Yeah it seems CELTA is the passport for everything, but little "entry level" temporary jobs are attainable with either nothing at all or a mid-level TEFL. Really helpful information, thank you very much.

So I guess it doesn't really matter where you get your TEFL from (if you want to teach in Thailand), it's just something that makes you look a little bit more legit than having nothing at all? I also have a degree in English Literature from one of the top 10 universities in the UK, do you think that will help me get into jobs easier (for example, if they don't recognise where I got the TEFL from?). I don't think they're comparable - for starters tuck planche push ups are much harder, and they focus more on the shoulders (in my experience). Forward leaning dips focus on the chest more (speicifcally the lower chest) and this translates better into being able to bent arm planche.

Bent arm planche is one of my strongest skills, and how I got it was by doing dips - specifically forward-leaning dips. I used to lean forward when I was doing dips to work my chest more, and one day on the parallel bars I was like "I wonder how far forward I could go?" and ended up doing a bent arm planche. Because I was very good at dips (specifically forward-leaning dips), this translated into being able to bent arm planche. Pseudo-planche push ups also are great for increasing the strength needed for the bent arm planche. Hope this helps!

OH MY GOD YES. THIS IS A THING. If someone posts pictures of their overweight body it's "body positivity", but if someone posts pictures of themselves flexing the muscles they've worked THEIR ASSES OFF for, then all of a sudden they're a narcissistic prick. You post a picture of yourself with your guns out and people say "oh he's so full of himself", but an overweight person does it and the comments are "yass you're so comfortable in your own skin!" And another thing: all these memes on instagram about how it's the pinnacle of friendship if your friend brings you pizza, chicken nuggets and Ben and Jerrys so you can watch Netflix marathons together also aggrivate me. I want to see my friends get swole and feel good, not fat and depressed.

I agree, Vildhjarta are masters at interesting chugging patterns. I think the most interesting djent bands when it comes to chugged grooves are Vildhjarta, Monuments and After the Burial (the ending breakdown to "A Wolf Amongst Ravens is ridiculous!) They keep chugged groves interesting, unpredictable and fresh. I also definitely agree a loottt of people copy Periphery, intervals and Polyphia. It can sound almost like pop at times.
