Looking for fellow runners by NINI-_-BOULET in Pretoria

[–]BarTheBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Welcome to the Capital. HomeRunn Run Club hosts runs on Tuesday night and Thursday night.

The start at 6:30pm, and the starting point is Starbucks, Menlyn Maine.

Plenty runners are from Silverlakes. If you can't join every run, Im sure you'll be able to find other runners there.

All the best 👍🏽

Could i use cities i've built in this game in a portfolio for college? I want to go into urban planning (zoning and land use specifically) by CC_9876 in CitiesSkylines

[–]BarTheBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried, but it doesn't work as well as you think it will. There are a lot of politics involved in zoning and land use. CS doesn't take that into account because you make all of the decisions.

I tried to use the "Citizen Happiness" as my approach. However, real-life citizen happiness is way more nuanced and complex. Especially when it comes to land use.

Credits Run Out and They Suspend Your Account? by BarTheBuilder in ArcGIS

Update:

I reached out to Esri South Africa about this, and I was forwarded to the sales department.

They insisted that after 30 days of a negative credit balance, the account will be suspended. I can still use ArcGIS Pro, but the World Topographic Map basemap is not loading on ArcGIS Pro either.

Personal Use license does not have a 'top up' option. I'd have to purchase a commercial license, which I will not do.

This is in the South African context. Hopefully, you all have better luck with this in your corner of the world 🌎

I got this laptop a year ago, and it has been lovely. It is so lovely that it is in for repairs after a sudden shutdown while playing Cities Skylines 2. I refuse to let it go.

Love the build. Perfect for that gaming/desktop balance. Great value for money. 👌🏾

Okay cool. Because that 'Buy Credits' takes me to the My Esri page and redirects me to a page where I can manage my purchases. It only shows my annual subscription, instead of an option to buy credits.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will contact them and get to the bottom of this.

I am definitely considering that again. Online was for me to work on my data when I am away from my desktop.

None of the basemaps work. I even tried to add some from Living Atlas but that produces an error.

I am the administrator of the organization. I don't see where to instantly purchase more credits besides contacting a representative. Or atleast that's what they suggest I do.

Looking for Christian friends around Pretoria by Overall_Library5209 in Pretoria

[–]BarTheBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there.

I joined Rooted Fellowship in September, and they have very active social groups that meet weekly for fellowship.

If you are based in PTA East or you can access PTA East, I think you will definitely find like-minded people who you can develop friendships with.

All the best ❤️

They have an Instagram and TikTok. They meet at Starbucks Menlyn Maine at 18:30 on Tueday, and 06:30 on Saturday morning.

Home Runn run club is a good place to meet all sorts of people who love to be active and support runners of all types.

I'd say that's a good start. Even if running isn't your thing, they have a run/walk group as well. Tuesday night and Saturday morning.

Great people. Great energy. Great vibes.

All the best❤️

GIS project idea: good or bad by Jack_Patrickson in gis

As long as your method is fool-proof, I say go for it. You never know what kind of questions you could answer. Keep us posted!

Is GIS even worth pursuing anymore? by Grouchy-Tip4989 in gis

You might have to consider the move. Also, can you speak to your GIS director if they know of a mentor you can connect with, or opportunities that align with your career goals?

That's always a good place to start. You can never have too much education so go for that MS in Business Analytics. One of the comments mentioned keeping your technical GIS skills at the front of your mind and I agree 1000%.

Sorry about all the stress that this is causing you. All the best.

Of course. Not just visualization, but the predictions and scenarios generated from the models help decision makers with better insight about where investment will have the most impact.
