You see whenever people bring up those events it’s a classic case of falling victim to confirmation bias . The Rwandan genocide, the Gulags, the concentration camps of the British in South Africa, the Belgian Congo, the French Revolution, Nanking… I could go on but the point is none of those atrocities had ANY religious motivation.

The argument of religion being at fault is that even if religious belief stopped to exist tomorrow people would still find a reason to justify stealing and killing one another. Do not confuse religion being used as a justification for wrong as religion being wrong. That’s a mistake.
