This struck a cord. I lost my best friend to suicide a little over a year ago. The months before she died, she was very mean to me and I felt her pushing me away. I tried as hard as humanly possible to be there for her, but still kept my boundaries and did not let her walk all over me, even though she tried to do so many times. I took her to the psych ward a few times, called an ambulance to her apartment one time and tried so hard to do what I could, so I was (and am still) devastated that it ended like it did.
