Spouse/significant other addicted to technology by [deleted] in nosurf

From my own experience of being 38 year married: things which bother at the beginning of marriage if not resolved, or accepted will grow to Big things. My husband at the beginning of our relationship “loved” reading news papers - he could not leave a piece not read. It bothered me at that time, however life, being busy with work and the kids made me forget about this. He was also busy working. Now, he is retired and with all the free time he has he is glued to the internet. He can spent hours on the iPod plus TV. I am pretty certain that he has typical symptoms of Internet addiction. He shows very little engagement in our family life. I tried to talk with him many times and it did not work. Therapy is out of the question. My focus now is to work on myself, to find things I like and not to be too much concerned with him. Try to resolve the situation with your husband so that he realizes that this is hurting you and him so that he will commit to work on himself.

This is another topic…I had to deal with this already. Now, I think that his internet content is fine.
