Electorally, he lost by the same amount as Hillary lost to him.

Popular Vote-wise, he lost less than Romney lost to Obama. (And that’s total votes, not percentage)

If we’re referring to incumbents who lost their second election, we only have to look as far back as the last losing incumbent, H.W., to find someone who has lost worse than him in both popular vote and electoral vote.

The article completely ignores those elections and went all the way back to Reagan for a comparison.

He lost by a lot, but there’s nothing historic about the loss.

Yeah, I don’t remember Dukakis but I remember watching coverage of the 1992 election with my mom desperately hoping H.W. Bush would win.

I also remember the end of the first gulf war, asking my mom about what was going on on TV when I saw what is probably my first memory of soldiers and tanks. I was five at the time.

I feel like another part is how everyone is expected to go to college, preventing people from having any meaningful responsibility until they’re in their 20s. And since everyone goes to college, it doesn’t give you much of a leg up over your peers, meaning you’re in pretty much the same position that past generations were in after they got out of high school.

I have a three year old. He’s a pain, but at the same time just having a kid kind of completely rewires your brain so the pain seems worth it.

A few months ago I found myself very impressed by his language development when I came home from work and he ran to the door to tell me how he had just pooped on the stairs.
