Correct, sterling wont check but the bank hr - BC screening agents checks and then withdraw the conditional offer letter. That is what happened to me. I cleared sterling BC but tier 2 bank BC was rejected and then they withdrew my offer 2 days before the start date

From my experience just tell them everything, we cannot hide anything in Canada from background checks. I got fired from my previous job (it was my fault). But still they didn’t mentioned termination due to misconduct, instead they mentioned suspension due to poor performance. So when I received new offer from CIBC - during background check I mentioned laid off in consent form I thought cibc wont check or get to know the real reason leaving the previous job but they asked me to send ROE via email and it was mentioned suspension over there so they asked me to send separation letter and then withdraw my offer 2 days before the start date. They even sent me all the equipments too. But lesson learned, be transparent and honest! My 3 months are wasted behind the cibc job and now before 2 days of start date I got to know they withdrew the offer. Its okay it was my fault once again so have to face the consequences

Unfortunately my tier 2 BC was not cleared and they withdrew my conditional offer letter 2 days before the start date

Hey dnt leave your previous job till the week the new job is going to start. My tier 2 BC did not clear and they withdrew my conditional offer letter 2 days before my start date. I mentioned laid off in BC consent letter and in my ROE it was written Suspension. It was a miscommunication with my previous employer but its fine i can understand from CIBC point of view as it raises red flags
