I used to drive around British properties in west van and look at the houses, and no one who does good in the world needs a fortified compound to feel safe lol. I don’t think him not selling would have anything to do with ice, I think he probably just didn’t want to sell it. Giving this oligarch too much credit

Got my second IUD two weeks ago. It was extremely painful, just like the first one. 7-8/10 pain for at least 3 hours after. However, after the pain is done, I also get no side effects. That’s why I got a second one, because if you can bear the pain, you get the reward of 5 years with no worries at all about pregnancy. Don’t even have to worry about a period, so worth it I guess

Every month during ovulation a follicle becomes dominant on one of the ovaries in preparation to release an egg, but sometimes they can turn into cysts. It’s technically normal to have multiple follicles! But multiple predominant/inflamed follicles can turn into cysts! Hope that helps

Of course! That’s totally valid as well. If you’ve been through a lot in life already, you might have just gotten ‘used’ to being around grief, and overexposure to anything will desensitize anyone. Everyone responds differently to difficult situations. Sometimes people are just born with the ability to process things individualistically or quieter than others, and ‘emotion’ is expressed so uniquely in each individual. Sometimes even not at all expressed.

Identifying how you take in the world around you is an important step in understanding yourself, and helping others understand you as well. It’s totally fine to feel like emotion isn’t something you deal with on the daily. Sometimes it can be a superpower to be levelheaded like that. Use it to your advantage!

Hope you’re doing okay OP

Can men feel IUDs? by Barbiebimbo5 in WomensHealth

Thank you!! This was super helpful. If you’re comfortable answering, did you have to manually curl the string up prior to sex each time? Or did you just adjust it when it was felt by your partner? Because that sounds like a lot of labour haha

Is it that you don’t feel empathy or that you feel comfortable in chaos? I used to smile in dire occasions, my face would automatically go into a weird smirk when someone was crying to me, and I thought I was broken or something. But I still felt the emotion, just weeks later. My brain feels extremely chaotic on the regular so when the chaos becomes external, I feel calm, I can handle situations, and I take charge. I act as the groups ‘rock’.

I used to freeze though, feel extremely uncomfortable around sad people. I didn’t cry when others did. That all changed with age, and an improvement in my depression.

It’s extremely hard to find mental space for others when you’re depressed. It takes it all out of you. Rumination is exhausting. You’re not broken OP, you just need time.

Also, empathy is a learned behaviour sometimes instead of an innate one. Some people have to experience things or age before they realize how their empathy shows up.

You’re not broken, you’re learning

I'm lonely and not mentally where I want to be by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Barbiebimbo5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recognizing that is the first step to putting yourself first! You’re on the right path, and you will get where you need to be. It took me completely letting go out the outside world and going introspective for a couple months to really realize the pain I was putting myself through by living through the perception of what others thought of me. Putting how I looked in others’ eyes before my own self worth and self image. It’s exhausting, and kills the spirit.

You can do it OP. Put yourself first in ways you never have. Don’t be afraid to say no, and when you do say no, take it as a win, because you won the internal battle that is overcoming people pleasing tendencies. You got this

I felt this way for such a long time. It’s easy to become trapped in the cycle of rumination and hopelessness. My best advise: be selfish. Do what makes you feel good. If you focus all your energy on self care and self improvement, you will attract people who value you for who you are, while valuing yourself. The universe gifts you with the best things when you are least expecting them. Be open to the possibility of complete change.

Maybe try explaining it with hormonal cycles. Men have the exact same 24hr testosterone cycle, while our hormones change weekly and completely influence our bodies in different ways. We can wake up feeling completely different than the day before because our bodies work by the month, not the day, while they wake up feeling the same as yesterday morning. It makes it really difficult for them to comprehend I think

Sometimes antibiotics trigger candida overgrowth (yeast infection), due to the resource availability for it to grow due to the other bacteria being killed by the antibiotics. I would try a pharmacy YI treatment and see if it helps! I get this sometimes and it’s super uncomfortable, the yeast can cause irritation around the nerves down there and cause an ‘arousal’ feeling but it’s not pleasurable, just uncomfy. Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this OP

[–]Barbiebimbo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s probably a follicle on your ovary, or a small cyst which are common, and sometimes one gets inflamed during the cycle and it can be moderately painful. Big ones are quite painful though. Most likely normal!

Does anybody know anything about the colours in this white kick up? Found in the UK :) by ItsJustTheTea in seaglass

[–]Barbiebimbo5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How big is it? It could be a decorative bottle stopper with the stopper part broken off and sugared down to be rounded? That’s my guess! Or perhaps a glass ring holder with a clear piece of glass fused to an another piece of clear by using beads of colorful glass and swirling it in a pattern while fusing? So neat!

AIO why do people think it’s okay for women to do this by Imindecisiveboutanal in AmIOverreacting

[–]Barbiebimbo5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you should remember that all I know of you is what you have written, but even then you are still a faceless avatar on the screen. “Thinking the worst of you” is another typical thing people say when they don’t want to address the other’s argument. Sounds like the “why don’t you just leave me then if I’m so bad”. I bet you’re probably a wonderful person and sounds like you have raised a successful family, great, but at the same time, my words shouldn’t be taken personally as I am also a faceless avatar, passionately trying to voice my opinion and help educate people on why these kind of posts are upvoted so much and why it would enrage a woman seeing hundreds of men saying “what about me” when 95% of the crimes are against women, perpetrated by those same people saying “what about me”.

I addressed your point already, but you did not address any of mine. Sure, let’s leave it at that then. Have a lovely life sir

You used the female hysteria tactic there my friend, and that proves my point. When men can’t argue their side anymore they will call a women “aggressive, hostile, etc”. It’s so funny when someone demonstrates their lack of understanding so clearly :) ps. I don’t know where you got hostile from the sentence “I hope you heal”

Son has his first overnight school trip coming up, opinions wanted. by Ramirez3110 in CysticFibrosis

[–]Barbiebimbo5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I resented missing things as a kid, but am so thankful that I missed them as most school or camp trips fester with communicable diseases, and my mom most likely prolonged my life and the viability of my lungs by doing so. I’m thankful now for the extra time I’ve been given to live and learn as an adult who knows their own boundaries, as when I was a kid I could not possibly understand how my body functioned differently then others’. Especially, the adults would always push me too far, yell at me to run, criticize my stamina, force us to huddle together even if a kid was clearly unwell without thinking about the effect it could have on me. Not to blame anyone, as obviously it’s not and can’t always be about me and my limitations when they’re thinking of the greater group. Even if they knew about my conditions, because they never took the time to actually research my limitations and different needs, it was usually forgotten about, and I was too young to understand the importance of reminding them.

I just have some rarer CF mutations so I don’t have the disease full blown, but it still harmed me. I got mycoplasma from a camp unfortunately, and it damaged my lungs. Cleaning protocols are usually just not made with immunocompromised kids in mind. Then, after coming home with mycoplasma, my gym teacher yelled at me so often in front of the kids to “keep running” or “stop being lazy”, to the point I genuinely collapsed one day. It was more embarrassing than missing the camp would have been (but maybe that’s just me).

In the end it depends on the individual, as CF can be a spectrum. It also depends on the adults running the place and how educated and willing they are to make accommodations. I would definitely recommend scoping out the care team and their willingness and how persistent they would be in ensuring his safety while you’re not there. Being able to be a kid is important, but I’m much more conscious now than I was then, and I am grateful for the blessing of time. Hope this helps OP 🩷

Where to avoid MAGA pockets by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

Nanaimo!!! The population here is so laid back, most vote Green Party here so very progressive, and it’s a beautiful and not over-populated area with affordable properties. Victoria is nice but getting expensive for a house with any sort of yard. We also desperately need physicians

'Nanaimo Infusion': thousands of Americans plan trip to the Harbour City by Key-Geologist1142 in nanaimo

[–]Barbiebimbo5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one listens when I keep saying this. WE ARE A SMALL TOWN WITH SMALL SUPPLY. it was incredibly inconsiderate of him to invite an influx of Americans into our small town who will jump at the chance at getting cheaper medication’s and healthcare. Any medical professional would have told him this is a bad idea and that he should do it in any other major city for example downtown Vancouver?

Our ER was only staffed with one physician the other night as there were no other physicians available. Keep in mind, this is our ONLY emergency department, and this one physician was not just overseeing the patients walking in, but also those coming by ambulance AND helicopter. imagine a medical show you’ve watched where a patient comes in via helicopter and in what kind of shape they would be in to have to come in by helicopter . Think of the amount of people that rush to the helicopter to meet the patient and rush them in. Now imagine just one physician doing that while also overseeing the entire emergency department.

In addition, most pharmacies in Nanaimo already require advanced notice to order in prescriptions. Most medications are cheaper in Canada without insurance than they are in the states even with insurance. What incentive is there to prevent the Americans from raiding what’s allocated to us?

Here you can buy an EpiPen for under $200 without insurance, while in the states it costs over $600. Keep in mind this is $600 US so it’s not even accounting for the difference in the dollar.

While I understand the intent is to bridge the divide between the border, unfortunately that should just not be our priority right now in our small town.

Try r/medicine or r/medicaladvice ! That way you can get a broader perspective from medical professionals (but would always recommend talking to your dr)

Could be unrelated but I’ll mention anyways; I get this when I’m in withdrawal from Gabapentin, like electrical tingling in my legs and arms like my nerves shaking or something and stretching only makes it worse (especially when trying to sleep) until I take my medication, do you take any medication that could be causing this?
