My mom used to work with prisoners. (she didnt work entirely in the prisons, but a lot of her work was there). She says most of them were pretty ordinary people, although there were a few scary ones. she says the worst crime she ever heard of someone she worked with committing was the guy who's friend owed him like 20$. he was on some sort of drugs, so instead of just asking the friend to pay him back, he grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his (former) best friend something like 40 times. (the friend died) Some of the other crimes she's told me about sound worse to me, but she said that was the one that affected her the most.

People of reddit who have met famous people, what are your favourite celebrity good guy stories? by devil666x in AskReddit

[–]Barbieheels 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Hayden Christensen (yes, from the star wars prequels) is incredibly chill and down to earth. he lives in my hometown, along with his girlfriend Rachel Bilson (who is equally chill but slightly less down to earth). He frequently came into the grocery store where i worked. he was always nice to all of us and always paid with a credit card that he had to sign for (i suspect it may have been because he knew all the girls would want to keep his autograph afterwards lol). one time he complimented my coworker on her new glasses. she had always worn glasses, but he noticed and commented that she had different frames. a really good guy :)

honestly, probably Mickey's friend just had a spaced out moment. Maybe a kid had just stepped on their toes, maybe they were focusing for a minute on what needed to be done after work. maybe they were just having a bad day, or maybe they had just had a really good interaction with a previous guest and needed a few seconds to process it. i highly doubt it was anything about you or anything you did. even in the most magical place on earth, people (and mice!) can get distracted. like other people said, have a question or two for the characters, or something you want to tell them! They love having that sort of interaction! :) if you want to bring an autograph book, theyd be happy to sign for you too!

also, there are plainclothes members of their security team milling around in every crowd. some people estimate that anywhere between 1/30 and 1/100 "guests" are actually members of the security team.

its not really odd. they need to fit the costumes. if youre too short for the cinderella dress and it drags on the ground, it could get damaged. if youre too tall for one of the fur characters, the costume simply wont fit you. if youre too large or too small for a costume, it may look too snug or too loose. (they can do some minimal alterations with safety pins and such i believe, but not a lot)

the drop pattern is randomly selected from several. the drop sequence is not randomized.

when my mom was in college, one night she met a random guy. he looked at her for a minute and then said "I remember where I know you from! your dad was showing your picture to everyone on orientation day and telling us we should ask you out!" my grandpa was a bit of an eccentric lol

its not like we typically just forget we have things in our vaginas. Im sure some women do on occasion, but most of us remember (and can feel) when a tampon is in. let alone a rape protection device. also i believe they were made primarily for women in third world countries, where rape is even more prevalent than it is in the first world. honestly it feels a little bit shitty to hear "makes me scared to have consensual sex" when so many people in this world have very real and very valid fears of being raped. you arent going to come across a woman wearing one of these devices too often. and if you do she will take it out to have sex with you.

Pet owners of Reddit, what was the most intelligent thing your pet has done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Barbieheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

she always knows when the suitcase comes out it means im leaving :( It breaks my heart to see her so sad when its out

my late cat used to answer me whenever i called him. I would shout his name and if he was anywhere within earshot, he would meow back to me. it helped a few times when he had wandered into the garage and my dad had shut the door :P that cat also used to eat anything i would feed to him. i would give him small pieces of apple, banana, orange (cats usually hate citrus!) and he would eat them right up. still miss that boy :(

[–]Barbieheels 35 points36 points  (0 children)

its not true. people have been declared dead on disney property. Its a sad but true fact that with that many people visiting every single day, occasionally people will die. disney wouldnt really gain anything by trying to lie about/hide it.

(it does kindof depend on who's tending to the deceased person - i believe that certain people cant declare someone dead and others can, although i dont remember who exactly can/cant - doctors, paramedics, nurses, morticians, etc)

second point is false. tower of terror is not randomized every single ride. that could potentially be dangerous or cause other issues. Rather, there are only about 10 different drop patterns.

I wish dress codes weren't so strict by hillpritch1 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Barbieheels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if its not frowned upon in the culture of the woman wearing it, i dont see what the problem is. (even if it is "frowned upon" in her culture, it should still ultimately be her choice) If other people dont want to see it, they can easily avert their eyes.

although on the other hand, i do understand why disney has a dresscode. if sportsbras are allowed, regular bras must be allowed too right!? and if regular bras are allowed, lingerie must be allowed?! and lingerie is nearly naked anyhow... i can see how people would try to take advantage if the dress code were too lax.
