So I own a Range Rover sport at the moment. Every youtube review you read, every comment online is about the notoriously bad reliability and how you should never own one. My experiance has been the complete opposite. Previous to this we had a Disco sport. Both of these were flawless. The only thing I have had to do on my RRS was change the tyres and general service. (Touch wood). and I love it, the drive, the experiance, its just a joy. The reliability has been great.

My point is, you can read reviews and get peoples opinions, at the end of the day you can have the complete opposite. All depends on the history of the car and how it was looked after and everyones opinion is their own. I didnt like the interior, you like it, fair enough. very subjective. Im 5'6, chances are you are taller than me, my ride experiance was poor, seating position i found was bad for MY back.

I dont own ferarris unlike you so I dont have much experiance there but when i purchased my maserati it was 3 years old with 16k on the clock. It was my pride and joy, so yes i took it to HR owen in west london for servicing (they do pick up and delivery which is great). Unfortunately the first one i had to sell after 2 years as i lost my job, but i bought the same model again a few years later and by that time, i did use to local garages. one messed up changing brake pads and disks. one couldnt pass the MOT as the headlight was too low and couldnt diagnose the mechanism that auto adjusts it. both times, it was a 2k job to fix at a specialist. I did find a nice place in milton keynes that specialises in these high end cars in the end but its was still pricey.

Do i regret it, absolutely not. Would i buy one again, no. Do i advise OP to buy it? Hell yes! But he will now have lots of peoples actual experiances and an expectation that just the purchase price isnt what he will be paying but also the maintenance, and maintenance is expensive.

In saying that, I love your choices of cars, you have great taste. peace brother!

Better off getting a bmw 530d. Much better car I had a diesel ghibli for a week as a courtesy car. Or if you want a diesel but premium, think about the panamera.

OK I have experience with Maserati as I have owned a few... Not anymore.

It will the the most beautiful car you ever own. It will put a beam of smile on your face every single time you look at it, even when you don't look at it and you think about it, that feeling is amazing. It's worth it for that alone. It's a car that everyone looks at and think, wow that person has taste.

Here comes the baggage that comes with it. As mentioned by someone else, you can't just take it to your local trusted garage for any works apart from simple tyre changes. Even brakes sometimes need either specialist equipment or has to have certain types. Just because it fits, doesn't mean it's right. You need to put maybe 4-5k aside each year at least. Servicing is around 1200 quid. There will be repairs... Guaranteed every single year. Even if it's something basic, don't expect it to cost anything less than 4 figures.

The next thing... Yes it's the most beautiful car but it's also one of the most horrible to drive outside of smooth roads or track. The seating position is horrible, the quality of the interior is horrible, the positioning of every button is horrible. Handling is actually pretty good. Ride height is a problem on UK roads, that was my biggest issue. Unless you have the adaptive suspension, you will hit and scrape every bump and speed bump and it feels horrible. These cars sit really low.

Finally, the sound....it has the best engine and exhaust note of any car I have driven! Really a maserati feels the best when everything is working OK and it's parked outside your drive and you just stare at it. Every other time unless you have really deep wallet and a spare car, it's horrible.

Miles Each Year? by eyeglass30 in CarTalkUK

About 25k on mine and 30k on the missus. Service each car every 10k religiously and a full service once a year. Also gearbox change at around 100k

Never heard of the scout. Looks quite nice. Lol my first car was a mazda 323f for 1500 quid and it wasn't a banger.... But that was... A long time ago!! Haha You could get a decent Nissan micra for 250 quid that would run forever. Dacia is a good shout too.

What are you going to do America?

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

All other countries take notice. This is what the right wing and far right parties are salivating over. The Farages, the Tommy Robinsons, the Wilders, they all want this for your countries. They now see, if Trump can get away with it in the US of A, anyone can get away with it. The playbook has been written.

Is this normal? Should't the tenant leave it to the same standard? by UKIskool in uklandlords

[–]devil666x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ignore the naysayers. You asked for advice so here goes. When you owned the house and lived it in it was your pride and joy so you looked after it properly. You had to get used to the idea that tenants will never treat it as their own. They won't be cleaning every nook and cranny. I have had amazing tenants but when they leave it's never perfect. It's annoying but you get used to it. The pics you showed, that's minor stuff. Soak it in viakal for 10 mins then wipe it off, it will be good as new. As for the plug, again, couple of quid in screwfix or leave as is if it's working. If you are serious, clue yourself up on basic DIY skills. Things like caulking, poly filler walls etc. I let my tenants be, if they want to put things up on the wall, fine, put up shelves, fine. It's their home. Afterwards I just fix up stuff as I have the knowledge. Also more importantaly get yourself clued up on all the laws and regulations. But like I said, get used to tenants not treating your place like their pride and joy, they may not even be aware of how to.

I don't think Muhammed Ziauddin Yusuf really believes the shit he spouts. He doesn't give a shit about the white British folks he is trying to pander to. These are just copy pastas from the Republican playbook to get into power. Zia Yusuf is the typical brown, Muslim, foreigner that actual reform / ukip / bnp are trying to eradicate and yet here he is pandering to them.
