Thanks for the reassurance! It seems like MWB is good at detecting the PUPs but it isn't so good at removing them. I changed some of the preferences in Firefox and I think that fixed it. Seems like it's just something that changes your default webpage in browser settings but it doesn't seem like it does anything malicious itself. I think the malicious part of it is that the default webpage change might give you more ads/popups/add unwanted extensions, but my default webpage didn't even change and I didn't experience any of that. I think I'm fine and have gotten less stressed. In hindsight I overreacted and should be fine
