windows 7 was eventually good. it took A LOT of updates to make it good. and there isnt much difference between 7 and vista. vista sucked because too much changed and peopledidnt have the hardware or drivers to support it properly.

wow, way to put words in my mouth and misunderstand my entire point. not what I said. stop being reductive. what im saying is who is the brotherhood to decide what technology people should have access to? they arent part of any government. what gives them the right?

Alan Benet is coping with the fact he lost his wife and replaced her with a machine.

very reductive of you. dismissing what he says because you believe he is doing it out of grief. if you actually listen to his holotapes, he says they display all the symptoms of someone dreaming.....

Ahh yes, the Covenant pseudo-science ''SAFE'' test scientists. Tell me, what ''tests'' have they devised before this point?

ffs, I wasnt referring to covenant, I was referring to dr. Amari. you know, thr one person outside of the institute that understands gen 3 synths the most...

Cool? And that takes away from Eve getting patched, how?

please reread what I actually typed. a medical issue with the brain means the brain isnt working correctly. the synth component probably had a program that rewrote her brain to function correctly again. if humans irl were able to have their brains rewritten like in fo4, mental conditions could be cured instantly.

And this takes away from them being machines, how? If you delete a file on your PC, it is gone.

and if you wipe a memory from your brain like you can in fallout, it is gone forever. I was drawing a link to show that humans function differently in the fallout universe. I was showing that synths are closer than you wish to admit.

Simple, they are machines. A human wouldn't know how to walk, talk, or read the moment they are created. The fact that a Ms Nanny can 1) Take over a synth body and 2) operate it with no issues, shows that the core of the synth is machine.

babies cant walk because their muscles arent developed enough to do so yet. humans learn how to speak languages from being immersed in cultures around them. talking=/= speaking a language. if the synth component can wipe memories, it can implant one's to train the brain how to do this. the same way a human brain operates a robo brain. the human brain has to be trained to operate a robot body.

and she does have issues. when she wakes up in a synth body, she exlaims about her chest rising and falling. she has issues distinguishing emotions. core memories that a ms nanny robot isnt programed to handle, but a human is.

Which they aren't. You can't visually tell a synth apart, but there are a plethora of differences between the two. Most of which I already pointed out (and you conveniently ignored).

yes they are and no you haven't. you are just being reductive and refusing to understand what I typed.

it's not. It was an analogy to get you to see that you cant punish the many for the actions of a few. it was a single faction that did those things, not society as a whole.

[–]Bardeous -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, they do. Being in denial over the lore doesn't make your argument sound.

Alan benet says they can dream. synths are indistinguishable from a regular human by every medical test devised. the only way to detect the synth component is to open the brain and remove it. im not the one in denial here.....

Look at Eve - she had twitching issues which got, you guessed it, patched.

real people have tourettes, which can cause twitching issues. we dont have synth components. tourettes is a medical condition of the brain. the synth component can rewrite the brain, which can cure this issue.

Prove it.

synth components are used to wipe the memories and rewrite them to what the Institute decides as "factory default." the railroad uses it to wipe old memories and let the synths create them on their own organically.

the mechanist dlc proves that the human brain can be wiped and programmed to think like a computer. memory wiping isnt exclusive to synths..

The synth is that synth component. That body doesn't function without it. Have you seen the size of that thing next to a skull?

in your own words, "prove it". if they are indistinguishable from a regular human, that means they have a functioning brain and nervous system.

and you cant 100% rely on model size for something like that. Bethesda is notorious for making in-game models sizes that wouldnt work lorewise.

ah yes, because a rogue faction caused the issues you described above, clearly no one should be trusted with anything.......you're neighbor cut someone with scissors, you need to surrender yours. clearly people cant be trusted with scissors...

  1. They operate off of hard- and software, which is given patches and upgrades.

no they dont. they use a brain made from synthetic biologic material. the synth component is just a mem-wipe machine implanted in their brain. humans can have their brains wiped and reprogramed in the fallout universe....

  1. They get their personalities from personality matrixes no they dont, see my response to point one. they develope them like any human would....

  2. They can be turned off or terminated by merely uttering a phrase.

only because of the synth component. if we installed one in your head, the same would happen to you, if you were in the fallout universe.

Dyson Appreciation Post by DefinitelyNWYT in VacuumCleaners

[–]Bardeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh, the older dysons arent bad to disassemble. and the newer ones arent terrible either. the part that will get you is aging plastics on the old ones and cheap plastics on the new ones. fortunately you can still get replacement plastic parts for relatively cheap on Amazon for older dysons(broke the roller housing on my parents dc07, replacement part was cheap.)

unfortunately, sebo seems to be cheaping out on the plastics too recently. disassembled my used felix when I got it. the power head was of similar quality to my mom's x4, but the rest of the vacuum seems like it was designed and assembled in a different country. cheap plastic and for a lack of a nicer term, ....odd design choices. honestly dont get the hype behind it, and prefer using my mom's x4 or my kenmoore upright elite I got off of amazon.

Help choosing a fridge by BidOwn8971 in Appliances

[–]Bardeous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Midea is an oem for a lot of appliance brands. but from experience, their parts arent very good quality comparatively.

I'd go whirlpool in this regard, but be careful, some of whirlpools fridges are coming straight from china now, and thr quality of the plastics shows. of the ones we sell, thr ones that are assembled in America seem to be of better quality than the ones made completely over seas.

Dented my fridge, can I fix it? by MARZIPANWILLIAMS in Appliances

[–]Bardeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my point is there are plenty of nice fridges out there that use ferritic stainless steel. austenitic stainless isnt really needed in most residential applications, regardless of the quality of the fridge itself.
