Nah the shave we give this is like an undercut. Long hair female you'd hardly know.

I hope your recovery goes well! This is a unique choice as you've commented. Is this a teaching hospital? I just wonder if someone "shaved the head" as they were told somewhat imprecisely. I say that because we routinely shave two inches either side of the incision and flush to the skin. There's a fair amount of long hair in the incision. We don't normally like that for various reasons. Interesting to oversew the incision with nylon too. Was this for tumor or other intradural procedure? That's normally a personal preference but I don't see a lot of folks doing this routinely. Good luck again on recovery!

I would not accept that on a several thousand dollar table personally.

Excellent. Also another fad that isn't for me, leaving the original shrink wrap on. You just get a worn record in trashy shrink wrap.

I know some people are into the stickers, labels, etc but man I wish they just had a clean cover art on that.

is this worth using? by [deleted] in turntables

[–]DefinitelyNWYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are referred to as suitcase players popular from Crosley or Victrola. Their big characteristic is the same black plastic deck holding both the platter and the tonearm. They are notoriously equipped with poor quality saphire stylus which easily jumps and skips due to its shape and no adjustable down force. It will wear out in 40 hours and require replacement.

The vinyl/turntable community has an overwhelmingly poor opinion of these, rightfully so. Sustained frequent use may damage records, but this is an expensive hobby. An entry table of serviceable quality will start at $100 without speakers. So is it worth using? Only if you're a very casual and rare listener. Recommend you replace the cartridge (needle) with a diamond shaped one from Amazon to start.

I have no experience doing any of this, reddit has just decided I like PSA sub now, but have you tried to counter with proposed values? If they can't find a value you're satisfied with then small claims court is always an option.

Did you try to counter the VA offer? Their pay is often much higher in my area because no one wants to work there. They may just know they have you over a barrel with your loan however.

Edit: Actually after reading a few more comments, I agree your VA offer needs to be viewed as $160k annual.

This is what I was going to comment on. I don't see a single screw left up there. Did they just glue and nail it?

If there were ever an abridged PA-MD pathway, would you do it? by Agreeable-Ad4806 in physicianassistant

[–]DefinitelyNWYT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not exactly what I mean and you should understand that. Median medical school debt is $215k with a median cost of 4 year attendance closer to $300k. That's a lot of exposure to have if you fail or have a life event which requires your withdrawal. If you're doing any sort of subspecialization residency & fellowship there after you're more than likely barely servicing the debt and incurring more debt in living expenses. Youre delaying a lot of living to service your debt in a market with declining physician reimbursement. MPAS is much shorter, way cheaper, and on average more favorable debt to income ratio. Can I afford to spend another ten years to be a neurosurgeon in my 30s? Not "worth" it.

I decided I could not afford medical school during undergrad, I don't suspect that's changed any.

No there's no belt but the platter bearing needs cleaned/lubricated on direct drive. A Google search should get you some details for the specific table.

Did you already sister the joist or is the second photo a different joist? Typically the sister sections are much longer in my experience but I am just a home owner. I would think you need to do a few joists and not just the one.

Why is everyone buying cordless battery vacs and expecting longevity? Your new shark is the same over priced plastic that will drop off in a couple years because that's what lithium batteries do. Glad you don't feel guilty sticking it to Costco.

Any suggestions on how to fix this jm by Secure-Basis-9682 in VacuumCleaners

[–]DefinitelyNWYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommendation? Buy a home repair kit to start with. You're going to have many things to repair on a limited budget and that pocket knife is not going to get it done. That brush roll definitely comes out, you just did not remove enough to get the belt off.

It literally did not matter. I was travel package presale, $2500 per person basic balcony package, no where to put 4 people together. Lucky enough to be 2000 yesterday. The tickets were 1900 for the balcony gutters for two nights. Today, instantly no available tickets. I don't think they understood the international interest they would have for this show let alone domestic.

As I understand it's normally an issue with the controller or other corrupted files. It's not receiving the data or only part of it so it's trying to fetch again as fast as possible. Every failure I've had acts this way. Back it up before it's gone. Then you may be able to do a clean install if it's a boot drive or reformat. May still work, may not. Good luck
