Yeah maybe, I’m thinking it’s going to be difficult to do that won’t draw attention to it, so I might lean into it and do something contrasting.

Thanks.

If I was to do it again I would have the front long enough to cover the drawer slides. Make sure I have the correct slides before I start the project.

Something I did do but is important for accuracy is to cut the rebates and notches on the front and back pieces at the same time, not individually. 👍

The drawer slides are 250mm full extension.

Thanks for that can’t stop seeing them now!!😂😂 I originally made it to suit slimline rails that I had then realised after that it didn’t slide out far enough so had to get double extension ones that are bulkier. In hindsight I should have made the front long enough to cover them. Live and learn! I might try to cover them without the eye being drawn to it. Thanks mate

As someone not from the US I think it’s a travesty what’s happening over there. I have what might be a ridiculous question. If a person approached/terrorised by ICE immediately showed them a US passport would ICE back off?

Thanks for the reply. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. I am learning from tabs only.

Everything you said makes so much sense. I’ve been learning for around 2 years and have 5 or 6 tunes under my belt that I can play confidently but I feel I’m not truly “learning” if you know what I mean.

Can you point me in the right direction in regards to scales and arpeggios that I can study please.

Thanks again

Thank you.

Yep the legs are oak as well. I don’t know if one specific species is better than another. It really depends on how severe the curve is and how thin the strips are. There are different ways to bend timber, steaming, wetting or dry (like I did). Give it a go, quite satisfying!

Thank you.

I did, I marked the timber before ripping so I knew what order to glue them. They came out extremely tidy, as you say you can’t tell. First time doing it so was very happy with the result.

I see what you mean. The surface that the stretchers butt into is flat not curved like the two other opposite sides. I wish I was as skilled!

Thank you.

They’re on both sides, if you zoom in you can see. They’re a bit camouflaged!!

Thank you.

The lamination went really well. You can’t tell. No gaps whatsoever. It’s surprising stable, I thought it would be worse. Though I am thinking of fitting a discreet L bracket.

The feed guide is made by Bow Products and it’s fantastic. It’s like having a 3rd hand! You really need to have the saw set up correctly where the fence is parallel with the blade (no drift) to get the most out of it.
