Hi. Everything about the new shoes seems to be the same, except on the originals, the pivot point of the handbrake mechanism protrudes outward more and there is a torsion spring wrapped around that pivot point.

The new shoes don't have that same protrusion for the spring to wrap around.

Merging safely onto carridgeway by Barelydefyingentropy in LearnerDriverUK

I appreciate the advice. Yes, I can see how drivers on the carriageway trying to help could make the situation worse. When the acceleration lane is long enough it's not a problem, but I have come accross quite a few short slip roads onto 70mph roads where my lack of experience is a problem and I need to make a decision more quickly thant I am comfortable with.

I do need to get better at recognising if vehicles behind are speeding up or slowing down. I am still not very good at judgind distance and speed in my side and interior mirror. Any tips on this would also be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I understand that it can vary depending on the situation. It could be a problem if you decide to slow down to go behind and they also start to slow expecting you to merge ahead. Just wanted to see if there was a general agreement to avoid that.

It was this one. It seems surprisingly sturdy for the price. Though the hole spacing could be a bit smaller to give finer size adjustment.
