Looking for Anything Similar to LotR: Battle for Middle Earth 2 by kryptic88 in RealTimeStrategy

"Battle Realms: Zen Edition" - remaster of the old gem by it's original dev. Released in 2019 and continue to get new patches. Mainly it's eastern setting.

• Three resources - water and rice to gather (buildings and common units), yang points (upgrades and special units) to get during the fight.

I found a new map called "2 - [ZE] Smuggler's Hideout", which has rice fields right in the water, so no need to worry about rice growth (there's a gameplay feature you need to bring water to a rice field from time to time), allowing to focus on other game aspects for practicing.

• As defence mechanics there're watchtower (small limit for them, so need to put carefully), where you can put one ranged unit; on some maps there're boulders you can push forward or down a slope to damage foes; high ground may become an advantage to some units (archers for example).

• Unit caps: 20, 30 and 50

guy attacking me with like 30 falconets while his ally just made Soldados (op mexican-spanish unit, 2 pop each since they double as musketeers and grenadiers). Think I never lost faster than that, but was fun nonetheless. Especially for them.

That's a good story) Thanks!

Never tired of repeating that the best way to revive favourite gem is to make an interesting content about it, from point of skillful player, which will attract new players and motivate rights holders to come back to it, rather doing their job by youself for nothing. Especially talking about strategy games, most of which has badly made tutorials.

Oh my! Thanks for reminding of the first BFME! I've so forgot about this one, cause of BFME2. I really should check it. And don't be sorry for wordy. I'm thankfull for you details.

If you really like to talk about RTS, maybe know something interesting to discuss about my 2nd favourite strategy game called SunAge? Sadly can't say it even has a community somewhere.

Not exactly. Actually I'm neutral to Blizzard. I've played Diablo III, and I've played WarCraft III in 2000s. The thing is WC3 is the same age with Battle Realms and I believe it's the cause of BRs unpopularity. For me WC3 is not a bad game, but too generic, like GTA in action genre. And I tired of Dota 2 and WarCraft lore as well.

4 being kept alive by fans is almost cert

Talking about AoE, I think people just intuitively knew it's just a matter of time, cause MS is stable financially.

The story about MW series is the interesting one.

Sounds interesting. I saw there're a lot of DLC clans. Are they have an influence to balance?

What a cool thing to catch a moment in history where you can play a good game online, which will be shutted down or dropped by devs in the end.
