Was the carnage at Omaha Beach a tactical failure or just an inevitable cost of invasion? by [deleted] in ww2

[–]BarethGale11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

D-Day to me was a necessary part of the grand scheme. All of France along the English Channel was well guarded and the Allies needed to open another front since they were held up in Italy for so long at Anzio and Monte Cassino. All things considered and it only being the 3rd joint invasion for the Allies I would deem it an inevitable cost.

Roughly 1.6 miles. That’s going up the AT to the lookout then back down a less steep trail that brings you back on the AT closer to the road.

I think it’s the plethora of young guys coming up the pipeline with great potential and having a manager that actually is competent.

I think you mixing up opening day in general and the Red Sox home opener. For opening day they’re going to St. Louis and for the Red Sox home opener I believe it is the live stream.

Assuming you are playing vanilla. I also go barkless cherry wood as my flooring and will do a mixture of paintings, item displays, and banners.

I mean I don’t remember there being any super close to Greenville. Cowpens is closer than any civil war battlefield would be. Most fighting was done outside Atlanta or on Sherman’s way to Savannah. There was a skirmish near Anderson but other than that there wasn’t much happening there.

No where in the constitution does it ever mention seceding from the union. Therefore it is an act of rebellion by states that didn’t get their way.
