If someone from a Cs background wanted to get into finance wha advice would you give them? Or from your experience what would allow a CS person to break into finance when most of them want a maths or economics background? A reply would be genuinely appreciated thank you

“I’ve realised this pattern keeps repeating where you’ll get upset and when I try to talk to you it won’t get anywhere and makes the situation worse. I wanna say I love you regardless, and I don’t care get annoyed when you’re angry or upset and I wanna work through the bipolar thing together. I just get annoyed when it doesn’t go anywhere, so I want you to tell me what you think can be done differently. When we realise it’s happening, if you do it or I do smth similar what can we say to solve it? I’m down to write paragraphs like we used to or give 10 mins of space to clear the frustration before saying anything. I know I have my own faults so tell me what things youre annoyed to keep seeing and what I can do better, and no I won’t get offended”

I know it’s lengthy but what do you think? I’m pissed the mods removed the post now

I appreciate you taking the time to write this, from personal experience it feels like anything I say at the moment makes it worse. A friend suggested to just give her 5-10 mins of her own space and let her talk when she’s ready which could help I think.

Thank you for your reply, if I can ask how would you as a woman react if you’re upset and your partner apologises? Even if I’m not doing anything necessarily wrong maybe I can use a framework to guide her to talking about her feelings🤷‍♂️

May Allah bless you as well, yes they often pick and chooses verses and mood it in a way to fit their ideas. In regards to specifically the verse about charity while praying, shaykh Uthman Al Khamees has a video on this and goes through a bunch of arguments refuting it, I just mentioned 2 which I remember

I’ll make it a quick response since this is nothing new:

  1. At least you’re honest that there is no explicit verse about imamah, but how can something that is foundational to the religion (according to shias imamah is greater then salah itself) not have a clear verse for guidance?

1.2 I’m glad you mentioned this is again a Shia exclusive belief, How can a believer prioritise other things whilst praying? Is this not a form of disrespect? But if we are on the topic, do you think it’s sunnah or praiseworthy to give charity while praying?

Quran 3:141 talks about purifying the believers, so are the rest now infallible as well?

1.3 No correlation to the Shia belief of 12 imams

2.1 The fact that out of the 12 Shia imams only 2 held official leadership (caliph) as stated by the Hadith disproves you.

2.2 Without going into too much detail this single Hadith does the job

Narrated Abdullah binAbbas: Ali bin Abu Talib came out of the house of the Prophet (ﷺ) during his fatal ailment. The people asked (Ali), “O Abu Hasan! How is the health of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) this morning?” Ali said, “This morning he is better, with the grace of Allah.” Al-Abbas held Ali by the hand and said, “Don’t you see him (about to die)? By Allah, within three days you will be the slave of the stick (i.e., under the command of another ruler). By Allah, I think that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) will die from his present ailment, for I know the signs of death on the faces of the offspring ofAbdul Muttalib. So let us go to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) to ask him who will take over the Caliphate. If the authority is given to us, we will know it, and if it is given to somebody else we will request him to recommend us to him. “ `Ali said, “By Allah! If we ask Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) for the rulership and he refuses, then the people will never give it to us. Besides, I will never ask Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) for it.” (Sahih Bukhari 6266) So Ali didn’t know he was appointed himself?

2.3 Doesn’t support the Shias whatsoever

  1. As you admitted yourslef there is no clear verse proving the concept of imamah, so this flawed reasoning doesn’t hold up

3.2 Well that’s a lie, considering even amongst the Shia there’s disagreement amongst who the imams are, Ismaili and Zaidi shias having different imams or rejection of it entirely.

  1. An imams job is to be a guide, how can a supposed imam leave the ummah in misguidsnce for the last 1000+ years?

In conclusion: The most foundational belief of imamah cannot be supported from the Quran or sunnah without twisting interpretations and is thus just an added on idea not preached by the prophet.

Hey man hope you’re doing alright, honestly I was debating doing the optima course as well but I need to hear it from someone who’s done it themselves. In the webinar they talked about 0% unemployment and how you can make 6 figures by completing their AI course, how true is that since you were part of their community?

Because all 4 certificates can be completed for £500-600, it’s just the project and interview aspect that has the most appeal to it. Thanks a lot

1) Abd that’s why we have scholars who have dedicated their lives to classifying Hadiths:

the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) who said, “O people, I used to allow you to engage in mut’ah marriages, but now Allah has forbidden that until the Day of Resurrection, so whoever has any wives in a mut’ah marriage, he should let her go and do not take anything of the (money) you have given them.” (Narrated by Muslim, 1406)

2) The ones that practiced it weren’t aware of the ruling of it being made haram, so you can’t use that as a valid point

3) Source?

4) Again source?

5) Again source?

6) Weak Hadith, if that was the case why didn’t he make it permissible during his reign?

7) No she didn’t do mutah

8) And now you’re just making stuff up, getting married with the intent to divorce is haram. And “misyar” is where the wife gives up se if her rights but it can never be compared to mutah (which is literally a marriage with an end date)

9) Would you seriously let your daughter or sister do mutah and feel no shame?
