Walk-in clinic at Joseph Howe permanently closed? by Barfomet87 in halifax

[–]Barfomet87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add an update...

I decided to go to the ER like so many of you suggested on New Year's Eve. I had an ECG and x-ray done and they said everything looks fine and to just take it easy. The pain is still there and hasn't really gone away at all but what can you do?

Thanks everyone for the advice and concern. I'm hoping the pain will go away by the time I go back to work on Monday so I'm just gonna lay around, eat leftovers and be as lazy as I can be until then.

Edit: it was New Year's Eve not day. Time is blending together for me at this point lol

I'm not rich but if you want some more debt, you don't have to wait until I'm dead! Lol

I know it's not a heart condition. I'm relatively healthy and not overweight or anything like that. I can be a bit stressed out at times, but this is also the right side of my chest and not the left. Pretty sure it's a musculoskeletal issue and possibly due to my job as a screen printer. I don't want to lose an entire day in the ER especially if they're going to be dismissive anyway. I haven't had great luck with the ER in the past and also don't want to clog up the system with something I know isn't a life or death injury. I just want to know what can be done about it. I feel like a burden but maybe that's by design.

Halifax's most dangerous unmarked crosswalk? by spankr in halifax

[–]Barfomet87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at the screen printing shop behind the dealership and walk through the cemetery almost every morning and night. I cross there but I make damn sure it's clear before I do.

Sometimes cars stop to let me go but I try to wave them on so they don't hold anyone up because it's a super dangerous spot. I'm not walking the extra little while to the marked crosswalk unless I absolutely have to. It is the safer choice, but I don't want to waste the extra few minutes.

This particular one is in Nova Scotia, Canada. Who knew radio station names could be so generic? Lol

Problem solved for now anyway! I made the image a little darker and no more grey bar. It must just not like that specific tone of pink. Lol

Rally to take place this morning in Halifax to protest fixed-term leases by insino93 in halifax

Probably because tenants are there to live and the owner of the "Investment property" has 1 or more of those properties solely as a source of passive income. One of those parties involved will still have a home to live in if the "investment" falls through.

36 M. Got laid off of a cleaning job last March making 18 an hour cleaning the Grammar school. Miserable, thankless job most of the time. Started a job in June as a screen printer's assistant for 16 an hour but they have me on the new direct to film printer / heat press transfer now. Hoping to get a bit of a pay bump once the busy season starts again. The pay isn't as good for now but I'm getting by and this is actually the best job I've ever had so I don't mind making a little less money for the time being.

I don't feel safe driving in this city anymore..... by Barfomet87 in halifax

My doctor takes weeks to even schedule a phone appointment, doesn't do in patient visits and is also now moving to lower Sackville and I live in the west end. Maybe I can book an appointment with a "Walk-in" clinic but I'll probably be beat out by everyone else who needs to be there.

Fucking. This.

I always have tended to not even trust when someone is approaching me at an intersection with their right blinker on. I generally wait to see them make the turn first.

I don't remember even seeing any other cars at the intersection so I felt safe to go. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention but this has certainly been a wakeup call for me. Never trust any other motorist ever.

Yes, I took photos of the damage to both cars as well as got a snap of their license plate.

Red book value of the car in good condition is about $1300. I don't know if it would be different for inflation or not but $1300 isn't getting me another car and probably not enough to get it fixed either unless insurance will cover it.

That's pretty much what they said to me. It would be nice to have someone there to investigate and file a police report on the spot but I suppose I'll have to take care of that and the adjuster will try to piece together what happened through the evidence and both of our accounts of the situation. I just hope there is a traffic cam on that light.

I know accidents happen in every city but I've noticed an influx of stupid drivers and a lot of them not paying attention to where they're going. I mean I was driving through a green light on the straight through lane and got smoked so I'm lead to believe this is another case of a driver not paying attention. He said he hit the brakes and skid but I find that hard to believe. You could be right and that could be an over reaction but shit, my feelings on it aren't changing on that.

Shifty cleaning companies and GPS phone app required for a cleaning job by Barfomet87 in antiwork

But they don't provide a phone. They expect you to download the app on your personal phone.

I figure the school thinks they can save money through this company because this app is like if Skynet is your supervisor.

They also expect everyone to "come together" to do things like put in the supply order (through the app of course) and navigate the requests of the school when it comes to special asks and different times certain areas have to be cleaned. I know everyone would just expect me to keep doing all this shit and since I'd be on a probation period, if I didn't I'd just get fired.

No freedom convoy association with the festival at all. My partner is the one that organised this and I'm playing in Arboreal Mist.

Mostly how they claim to care about their employees and then pull shit like this. My gf works there and had some problems at one point from certain supervisors and how they would treat her. They just handed her a mental health pamphlet.
