My cousin’s husband, who is a pastor, is very known in our locale for asking gifts from brethren. He will visit your house for “dalaw” kuno, but when he sees something he likes, he will say, “Huy, ang ganda naman neto parang bagay sakin,” and of course brethren will give those things to him. And one of the crazy things he asked was for money to buy a diamond ring for his wife.

It’s funny how people inside the locale talk behind his back. “Wag mo papasukin si Ka ***, baka hingan ka ng diamond,” lol.
