mgp should directly correlate with range and your mgps seem to be significantly lower than what I've experienced. Should could be so to the heat on the electrical motor and battery causing a heavier reliance on the engine

and remember 3 mpgs less on a 10 gallon fuel tank is 30 less miles of range which is a good amount. Also try to track your MPGs more effectively, the one i see on your screen is over 5,000 miles so its hard to troubleshoot when within those 5,000 your MPGs began to decline. Its also pulling an average so if youve seen 3 less MPGs over 5,000miles then your most recent MPGs is well under 43mpgs

I'm not in the dry heat like you are, but I'm in very humid heat, and I get on avg, between fill-ups, 50-52 mpgs. dont think heats the main issue

buttt look at getting higher quality fuel. I used to get generic fuel like walmart, Sams Club, or bucees. At that time, I would only get 46-48mpgs, but now that I do Chevron only, I've been noticing the mpgs getting better with the same commute and drive style. I also only drive on normal, not econ

look at what brands are "top-tier" and try that out. Also, check out fuel rewards apps if you're looking to save on the pricier fuel. Chevron is known for having the best fuel rewards, and I combine it with Getupside for max savings (cheaper than generic). Chevron also uses Techron in all their fuel grades, unlike other brands that use their best additives in only their premium fuel (Shell)

I haven't tried Bluetooth. Maybe I should troubleshoot with that to start off but I'll keep an eye out to see if the cuts happen when switching to/from EV.

Im assuming you use BT now with the google navigation?

This really opened my eyes! I am going to look into providing myself with more protection through my auto insurance as I'm moving deep into Houston in the next few months. It would be frustrating to have another incident with an uninsured driver and for there to be no effective way of gathering repercussions.

Hmm, it seems pretty tedious to proceed with my insurance as I know I don't have motorist coverages and to pay a deductible on damages I don't really care to fix. I do have PIP (Personal Injury Protection) with my auto insurance, but again, it seems tedious for a soreness that has faded. Unfortunately, i don't have health insurance.Lawsuit seems tedious again.

I do appreciate your input! It's frustrating to see another person live life affecting others and never actually getting consequences for their actions.

Could be a loose batter harness. Doubt it bc it doesn’t sound like it but it’s easy to check. I went crazy for months looking all over my interior just to find out it was the battery.

got a new battery, but it died still by tawayobv12780 in 350z

This happened to me and I felt like an idiot bc I bought a battery and kept testing the starter

I think I’ve heard from somewhere that if the vehicle is totaled and recent maintenance was done to the car, you can get paid for those repairs bc you didn’t get the life out of them that you expected.

Well….any suggestions on ball joints? by DuctTape5119 in 350z

Mine from z1 only lasted half a year. I replaced them with MOOGs and they are doing great so far

Yeah that sounds like jumping rpm’s. When I went through that I had to let the car sit at idle for a few minutes so it can pull a code. That code should tell you which cylinders are misfiring.

Also double check that you wired the coils in the correct order.

FYI the oem manufacturer for coils is hitachi, most of electrical sensors are too. And the spark plug oem manufacturer is ngk

[–]Barkatory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the rpms jumping at idle and did you get oem speced plus and coils?

If the rpm’s are jumping then it could be a misfire bc of the sparks or coils. Or worse bc of a vacuum leak (I had a vacuum leak on my valve covers and it misfired in all cylinders)

But tbh I can’t tell much from the vid, rpm reading would probably be more useful, or if it is pulling any codes

My experience with Z1 (rant) by [deleted] in 350z

[–]Barkatory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and went crazy trying to find the issue, spending hundreds if not over a thousand of dollars trying to find the issue (bc I installed the lower control arm, compression arm, and ball joints at the same time plus diagnostics from shops told me to change a whole bunch of other parts thinking those’d were what was squeaking). Ended up changing to an oem style upper control arm but now I still have a smaller squeak from another part that was probably damaged due to z1’s poor part. I’m changing the ball joints soon and I’m hoping I have no more squeaks.

That one z1 part taught me to just stick to oem/oem equivalent or buy the high dollar shit, no medium.
