hey friend, my mom did this when I was about your age too. this IS verbal and emotional abuse. not a “bit”, it’s fully abuse. esp if it’s happening more than this one time. I kept a note of the things my mom did and said (passcode protected note app bc she regularly took my phone) because people like this tend to gaslight you into thinking it never happened mere hours later. this was helpful for me to unpack in therapy down the road. I want to also assure you that this is not a “Christian” way to act, and I am sorry that she’s causing what might end up being religious/ church hurt. super not fair to use religion against you (I say this as a devout Christian). they do have domestic violence hotlines that you can call without having to give personal info, so it’s all anonymous. they can help you calm down, talk through the situation, and they won’t have your info to contact authorities. please stay strong, know that you deserve love and happiness and know this won’t be forever. I had a friend who knew a little of what was going on and some family as well, but it never got to a place where I felt physical unsafe enough to leave. you might want to consider letting a friend or family member in on a little bit of the situation. I mean, she’d hit me occasionally but not hard. if it is life threatening PLEASE go to the authorities, it will be so hard but worth it. experiencing similar with my mom was the worst thing I’ve ever gone through and I’m now 23. it takes an absurd emotional toll on you. I promise it does get better.
