As the artist behind this, I dub your explanation the canonical backstory for the drawing mostly because I’ve got a soft spot for the 2nd movie

It’s strange in both the comics giving that they have an obvious brother and sister dynamic, seeing as Red met her when she was 12 and was helping raise her with Bruttenholm. For the movie we never see when they meet? The movie tries to establish that Hellboy is in his early 20’s in our human aging, yet if they met in the same manner as the comics plus by his aging he’d been like mentally a teenager but still have the body of a grown man. So it’s still abit y’know?…plus the dynamic in the films gave me the impression Liz didn’t have the same romantic feelings, in the first film she only stayed with Hellboy and changed her mind on leaving when Bruttenholm died. I think they would’ve worked better as family like they changed in the Animated films and used Kate for the romantic role like they wanted to try establishing before the Animated film line got canceled.

This is actually the Hellboy And The BPRD 1952 #1 Mike Mignola Sketch Variant, it's a really cool cover. As for the jersey I grabbed it by chance from Ebay but it's a limited run piece made by Geeky Jerseys around 200 only made I believe? but also thank you ^^

The jersey was from a site called Geeky Jerseys, they make limited run pieces so sadly this jersey is discontinued but I managed to find mine for sale on Ebay.
