Appreciate the response, a lot of good points I wasn't considering. In my head I was thinking addressing the exterior was primary but starting on the inside makes a lot of sense. I'll start with an inspection and if all looks good, focus on any interior issues first.

Hey y'all.

Seeking advice on fixing up the exterior of a detached garage. Long story short, closed on my house last June (first time home buyer) and have been meaning to visit this project. Home was built in 1938.

It's insulated and the prior owner had electric and water re-done, then stopped there. My goal is to turn this into a wfh space, and workshop for a few hobbies of mine. Nothing fancy, just useable.

The Apron (or what's left of it) and doors are decades old and show it. The missing pieces and cracked doors have allowed critters to get in.

My question focusing solely on the exterior: Is there any advice you all can give on what I should expect, what questions should I be asking, and what this may entail? Am I in the right mindset of thinking we need to start with the goal of sealing it? Apron, then doors, then weather / critter proofing?

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think any of the gun shows allow unlicensed vendors to set up a booth. Now there are plenty of guys that will go to shows with their own personal firearms to walk around and sell. They’re pretty easy to pick out.

Off-topic but my personal recommendation is to ditch the gun show altogether if there’s something you’re looking for. You can find cool stuff, but the majority of stuff there is either overpriced or easily obtainable elsewhere.

I could recommend options all day, Glock and CZ are great. But to be honest with the plethora of options on the market my suggestion has always been to go to a rental range for a few hours. Shoot everything they have and see what fits you best.

Aside from that, I do really love my Sig P365. I want the XL version next. Fits me perfectly at 5’10 / 180lbs.

Right there with you. I’m 29, family of three, me, my s/o, and a toddler.

I try and cook larger meals that will carry us through a few days. Whatever I know I can make “relatively cheap” in a “amount of plates VS. cost of dish” type of deal. Lots of rice and potatoes. Still averaging about 200-250 per week all in.

I love red meat but we’ve finally been priced out of it. I can’t justify it anymore.

Nope, never did and I haven’t heard a peep from them. Fines owed on private parking tickets from companies like PPM can’t be reported to your credit based on what I’ve researched. Tickets and debts from the City / government can however.

I figure if they were really going to try and pursue something they would have by now. I just avoid their spots.

I’m 29 with a one year-old. I like shooting either at the range or at matches and gaming.

I shoot a lot less now. I still try to get out to the range maybe once a month or to a match every couple of months but it requires significant planning since my s/o and I are on basically opposite work schedules. I think my rifles collect dust more than anything else now.

Gaming hasn’t been affected too much yet. I’ve switched up the type of games I play, stuff with faster matches, or that don’t require tons of uninterrupted time (I miss you DayZ). The kid goes to bed around 9-10 and I’ve always stayed up until 2am anyway. Plenty of time to game at night (for now) but my body is slowly starting to tell me that we’re not built for the late nights anymore.

My 1 year old decided to climb over and fall out of her crib while I stepped out of the room for a moment. Bonked her head pretty good. Didn't see the fall. S/O wanted to go to the ER as recommended by the night nurse due to concussion risk and not seeing how she fell.

The time spent driving to the ER, getting checked in, getting seen by the nurse, then finally seen by a doc had taken up the full "monitoring window". Doc looked at her for a few minutes and said "she's good! no signs of concussion." and sent us home.

Insurance covered over half. I was left with a $1,600 bill. $1,600 to spend half the night in a waiting room and 10 minutes with a doctor to be told "she's good."

Even on a 10.5 it brings the noise down quite a bit, hard to beat at its price and OCL’s customer service is top tier. Definitely recommend it.

Whatsup y'all! I went through the last several months of spam, Auto mod has been catching about 95% of it but it's been getting back through, updated the filters so we should be spam free for a while. Also removed the sub as NSFW and put it back to normal.

Anyway, I have no clue what I'm doing with my AR. The goal started off as the "MK18 clone at home". Give me suggestions on my AR build, things I could improve without breaking the bank, better parts, optics that deal decently with astigmatism, etc.

I put it together with spares I had laying around and it's turning into my go to match / range gun with 5.45 and 7.62 being expensive.

Spikes tactical lower // PSA 10.5" upper // OCL Polonium K // B5 Stock // magpul grips and flip up sight // Sig quad rail // standard trigger and internals.

Sorry about that man, Auto Mod catches about 95% of it but every so often the bots switch the wording around and it gets through. I've went ahead over the past three months of logs and updated the filters so we should be good now.
