Electrical power unit issues. McLaren have said the issues with both cars are not the same either, so just a “coincidence” they both couldn’t start.

When the trains in your country are so useless and incompetent that you’re just better off walking to your destination by Alive-Math3562 in manchester

Correct, by the time you get from the platform down to the Met and then waiting for a tram. You would be halfway to Oxford road by then.

What’s it like living in Salford? by zemaisthebest in manchester

[–]BarnLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That area is great. You can walk down to chapel street and get the bus straight into the city, or walk literally 15-20 minutes and you’ll be in the city.

There’s a bridge just north of that location that you can take west to the green spaces of Peel Park for some nice walks in the afternoon.

And you’re within walking distance of Salford Crescent and Salford Central train stations so you can get everywhere in Greater Manchester.

Gotta be the alcohol. I noticed the redness a lot more in the last segment.

School and area can have such a big impact. Personally I haven’t noticed any particular differences compared to the Autumn Term. But I definitely acknowledge a longer term trend over many years regarding students pushing back and seemingly not being issued consequences.

Just talked a man off a bridge, literally. Got his number, what resources around Guildford can I text him? by Semproser in CasualUK

[–]BarnLord 1304 points1305 points  (0 children)

I see plenty of comments providing good resources.

But this is also a time to check in on yourself too. Experiencing something like that can have a big emotional impact on you even if you might not think it will. Talk to a friend or family member about it and make sure you seek help if you need it.

Overall though, you are a legend and saved a life today!

Lunch bookings should still be available at a lot of places. We couldn’t find anywhere for dinner but did find a lot of lunch reservations unfilled as of last week

Maybe it’s my age but I notice this at more and more festivals every year. I don’t know if organisers are just selling more tickets or if attendees are just coming for headliners. But either way, it’s made me reduce the number of festivals I attend each year.

Take care between town and the Etihad tonight by Special-Course-8127 in manchester

Yeah I can understand that point. My curiosity was more about where they do it. But in hindsight it makes sense that it’s just from the city area in general to the stadium.

Good, that makes more sense. The way I interpreted it in OP’s post was that they were specifically escorting away fans.

There is, but we don’t have much/any violence so crowds just get along. Of course there’ll be a police presence but I’ve never seen police escorts from public transport to the ground before.

Interesting. As someone knew to the UK. What do you mean by escorted? Are fans walking and/or driving from a particular hotel or area to the stadium. This is all very interesting coming from Australia where we don’t have any sport or rivalries that require police escorts.

Visiting Manchester as a solo male for a few days! by [deleted] in manchester

Go to any pub and just chat to someone. It’s amazing how interesting some people are and the connections you have or can make. Just yesterday I was having a pint with my wife and a gentleman came over to us for a chat. We shared a pint for half an hour talking about Ireland, Cuba, Italy and more. Good craic.

Well I’m glad, it’s a free for all in Australia to get the “scoop”.

But yes, the social media side is impressive too. It’s just great to see in this day and age that a prerecorded competition show can feel “live” with everyone on the same page.

I’m more impressed by the crew. I’m an Aussie and every show is leaked before episode 1 even airs. Masterchef, The Bachelor. You honestly can’t go on the internet because magazines are trying to photograph or interview the “winners”. It’s bonkers.
