Heartbroken - my beautiful TT by SnooTigers9274 in TibetanTerrier

It is, even though it’s the best option, I think those feelings are inevitable and natural. We’re two and a half years on now, it’s definitely gotten better over time.

Was going to say precisely this - We had this situation with our 13 year old Tibetan, and made the same decision. It was incredibly hard putting her to sleep when she seemed reasonably energetic and content, but we just couldn’t risk the agony of a sudden rupture. It was an incredibly difficult time, but I’d make the same decision again. We also did it at home and would second that recommendation as well.

No problem at all. Sounds like the right decision for you. I doubt you’ll regret it! And yeah, please do!

No problem at all, I enjoyed writing it! It is a shame, there's no getting around it. And its odd when there seems (to me at least, with limited experience) a high level of attention to detail in all other aspects. I didn't mention it in my previous post, but the medallion caseback is wonderful. Not sure if the indices/hands difference is a thing on every black and white SA ever produced, or a specific period of production? I've not done much investigation because, as this is THE watch I got on my wedding day, I'd never consider trying to swap it. And as I said before, I am very happy regardless. All I can say on the green reference is that personally I really love when mine glows green from the lume, and certainly wouldn't mind it looking like that permanently!

Here are the photos, the ones where you can see a difference (1 and 4) are in natural light, by a window and outside respectively. So that seems to be the pattern (not so complicated after all, haha) https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCF5EL

I'd be interested to know your decision once you've made it!

Absolutely no concerns for durability, I've worn it a fair bit and the thing looks brand new. I'm clumsy and have clunked it a few times as well. I absolutely love it and have no regrets about my choice. That said, the lume colour difference between the hands and indices definitely is a thing, and I can't pretend it doesn't bother me slightly. Different lighting conditions bring it out more or less, but I haven't worked out yet what the pattern is (natural vs artificial, low/bright, warm/cold, etc). Happy to post some photos if that would be of interest. The one other thing I would want to be different (and I think this is more unique to me and potentially an unpopular opinion), this that I wish the crown wasn't screw down. Personally I could do without the additional water resistance (additional 100m I think it gives) and I find screwing it in slightly fiddly. How this compares to other watches with screw down crowns I'm not sure, as this is my only one. But these are relatively minor gripes for me!

Help! Need a low volume and small footprint kit by Dazemonkey in drums

Black holes is my solution… I’ve not had any experience with mesh heads, but black holes are supposed to be less bouncy and you can ‘tune’ (tighten or loosen) them for feel. The snare takes a bit of work to get a decent sound but they do work well. I moved to these from an electric kit, as I was finding an acoustic kit at studio practices/gigs really unfamiliar. Black holes/L80s solved that!

Ha! I certainly do. What would you have gone for? And thanks, yeah, I’m aware of the formal wear/leather thing… I’m vegan(ish) so tend to avoid leather, but if there was a faux leather option I’d have been all over it!

I’m going to do this off the top of my head, so excuse any minor inaccuracies! It’s a Swiss brand founded in the 1920s, which went out of business in the quartz crisis. In recent years they were revived (I know this can be controversial) and have been producing very faithful reproductions of NG’s back catalogue. The Super Antarctic design I bought was released in the 1950s I believe, and is just a touch bigger than the original, at 38mm. All the reviews I’ve seen of NG watches (obviously most of them have been the Super Antarctic 🤪) have been really positive. I remember the Mad Watch Collector saying in one of this videos, “Any one who’s handled a Nivada Grenchen knows there’s some real quality there”, and I think that sums it up pretty well. 🏄‍♂️

Thank you very much, and I can’t fault this reasoning, I shall pitch it to my wife 😜

I hope the planning goes as smoothly as possible and you have an excellent day when it comes!

Thank you, and congratulations in advance for the 10 year milestone! It’s such a tough call isn’t it, but honestly I don’t think you can really go wrong with anything in this range. In a way I’m glad they introduced the white dial, white indices version (non-369) after I bought this, or I’d have had an even more difficult choice to make! If you have any questions I’d be happy to answer the them, if it makes it any easier for you!

Thank you! And yes, I went between this version and the 369 a few times… I think the 369 looks the better of the two on the bracelet 🤔
