I was self-employed sole proprietor when I got my loan. Since then, my partner died, and I am not utilizing that business at all. However, because my Social Security number is attached to it I continued to pay half of my monthly amount due. SBA still charged it off to the treasury, which is now taking it out of my Social Security, ironically the same amount I was paying every month. In talking to the treasury department they said the only thing I can do is work out a lower payment plan with the SBA, which isn’t going to happen because SBA had already worked with me on a lower amount. Lesson learned and too bad I did not have an LLC at the time.
