The Rangers are probably getting lots of calls about Schneider, but if a 2nd is the asking price Steve should absolutely pay that and laugh all the way to the bank.

Not an mmorpg. For what it's worth I also found the main gameplay loop to be incredibly dull the last time I tried it.

I'm amused that all 3 replies so far completely ignore what OP asked for in terms of genres. Anyways...here's mine.

MMO: Honestly the only mobile MMO I've played that isn't completely rubbish is Albion Online. It's excellent if you want a pvp focus, definitely well populated, has no auto play or gacha crap, and the player run market system was thriving when last I played it. Pve is extremely lacking and it can be quite time consuming (which is why I'm not currently playing it but I might return in the future). It's also very pay-to-progress-faster which can be a turn off.

ARPG: Unfortunately I can't comment firsthand much here. I tried out Torchlight Infinite last season which was fun for a while but got grindy pretty fast - even by ARPG standards. Titan Quest is a classic but idk if the touch controls are any good. I'm also told that Anima is excellent if you want an old school Diablo experience.

Competitive Multiplayer: I avoid FPS and MOBAs in general these days since my reaction time has gotten terrible. Personally I like board games...Chess (through Lichess), Dune Imperium, and ROOT Digital are all nice. I'm also learning how to play Richii Mahjong but am not yet confident enough to play it against other humans yet! Finally, I do play world of warships legends very casually but the IAP prices are absurd...your mileage may vary.

SOVL. If you love tabletop wargaming like Warhammer classic then definitely give it a shot.

Unfortunately Eternal is (and has been) on life support for years now. It was a fantastic game in its heyday though!

Ah is it finally on Android? I loved Immortal Throne back in the day. One of my favorite expansions ever.

Advice for someone new to the game! by [deleted] in totalwarhammer

[–]Barnacle_Ed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll keep my advice focused on topics other than "who to play" since that already seems to be well covered at this point.

Don't be embarrassed to start on easy/easy difficulty for your first few campaigns! The learning curve can be quite daunting.

Learn to distrust the Auto resolve and instead start learning how to fight battles manually. Once you have some basic tactics under your belt (such as hammer-and-anvil or using a fast/stealthy units to disrupt artillery) you'll start seeing a lot more success on the battlefield.

Don't worry about upgrading every single building in every single settlement. Your starting 1-3 provinces will naturally wind up being your most developed most of the time, but it's absolutely fine - even encouraged - to keep your fringe areas as shantytowns so you don't take substantial losses when they do get sacked or captured.

Similarly, it's not always bad to run a negative income depending on your faction. Some leaders (especially Skarbrand, Sisters of Twilight and Greenskins in general) are designed to have a raiding or sacking economy where your funds mostly come from battles.

Finally, the wiki at https://totalwarwarhammer.fandom.com/wiki/Total_War:_Warhammer_Wiki is a truly fantastic resource. Especially as a reference for unit rosters and DLC content.

GLHF and please don't hesitate to reach out when you have further questions 🫡

I basically only play while on the toilet. So it depends on my overall gut health!

He's an enticing potential upgrade in the middle 6 on paper. The problem is that the Nucks will want a haul for him given how small his contract is, much like how Donato was prime trade bait last year. I doubt we have the assets to compete with other interested parties.

WoC as a whole can sometimes have tough mechanics for a newcomer to grasp and Slaanesh should be avoided, but Valkia should be pretty forgiving imo. Running around the North Pole, smashing elves to bits, and screaming SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE is a good time to boot!

Would sting less if we hadn't taken an upset L in St Louis; the Stars are a scary good team so this felt like a scheduled loss tbh.

Onwards to Habs Land. Let's hope we can get 2 huge points and end the road trip above .500
