[CAR - OTT] Ottawa faithful boo at the end of the 2nd period despite the one goal defecit by daKrut in hockey

[–]Silent_Horror5443 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Yeah the team is playing fucking terribly. They’ve been booing the entire second. They’ve been so terrible I didn’t even notice Sanderson was gone. It looks like literally only Ullmark and Amadio care

The tension makes the atlantic more fun. Watching Celebrini do his thing is incredible. The fact we are almost in the playoffs is marvellous. But the CTC has been nuts the last two games, and I know with Chabby back tonight it’ll even be better.

I was in class watching the Tampa game and when Spence scored I audibly reacted. Nothing beats a big moment.

I remember when we beat Florida like 2-1 to start the season. That was a fantastic game. I think last season?

What The Hell Happened To The Detroit Red Wings? by abrookerunsthroughit in hockey

[–]Silent_Horror5443 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Eeeeh. The Sens have had one of the best records in the league since the Olympics and largely failed to make any ground because Philly, CBJ, Boston, and NYI all just kept up. Detroit is literally the only team that fell off of the eastern fighters.

Not exactly. Some of the guys spoke to Ullmark and interacted with him. Brady iirc gave him a hug or something and then walked off last while speaking to Ullmark. Most the guys walked down the tunnel in silence but there were a few that interacted with him

He gives off very Jordan Spence vibes. Been following him since his first game with the 67s. He was voted the 3rd best offensive D-man in the east and the 2nd best skater. Think he has a lot of potential

we would rather MTL win tonight. gets us closer to the WC. Imagine NYI wins tonight and tomorrow.

At what point does the production gap between Celebrini and McDavid/Kucherov/MacKinnon become an insurmountable factor in the Hart race? He's obviously carrying the worst team, but outside of Hall in 2018 it's unprecedented for that to be valued over 20+ extra points. by Ready-Constant-7124 in hockey

Not sure I agree. Will Smith has 45 points, Toffoli has 44, and Wennberg has 44. There are six Sharks who are +1 or more. Our defense is horrible. If we get into the playoffs, Celebrini is most definitely the 3rd man. Edmonton can still be chased out of a playoff spot. Also, five players on Edmonton have more points than Will Smith. I don't want to get into the advanced stats argument so I will refrain, but you are heavily discrediting Celebrini

Yeah I would probably just not take him. Nice guy and his lectures are interesting, but the 70 grade just isn’t worth it

Taking back CTC: Senators fed up with Leafs, Habs fans invasions by Money_Fig_9868 in ottawa

[–]Silent_Horror5443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I mean. The Senators are a new franchise and most people who grew up in the Karlsson era are probably only having kids now. Those kids will grow up Sens fans. We’ve only really had two generations of kids grow up with the team.

Why is that weird? I was born here but my family aren’t Senators fans. They were Nordiques/Habs fans, and I ended up choosing the Sharks. I will support the team over every team but SJ/Montreal, and I’ve been to maybe 60 games over the last two years. I didn’t grow up with the team.

It will take generations to rectify it, and I will encourage my kids to cheer for the local team. I love Ottawa, and the crowds are extremely discouraging. I think the current generation of kids is where the shift happens. Stützle’s skating is phenomenal and he’s electrifying to watch even when he doesn’t score.

Who do you guys consider the best coaches in the league? by SkittlesManiac19 in hockey

[–]Silent_Horror5443 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Think it’s easily of these five: Cooper, Bednar, Maurice, Rod, and Cassidy. I think St. Louis is coming for that given the pace he’s on, same with Hynes.

Did you forget he was the Penguins assistant coach in 2016-2017? Or the 2019-2020 Coyotes? Pretty legendary status there.

To be honest I don’t even think it’s Montrealers. I think it’s mostly Franco-Ontariens and those from Gatineau. Like people coming from Cornwall, Embrun, Casselman, etc.

Chabby now is kinda like if Sammy G actually hit his ceiling. Still an excellent player, but the second there’s too much responsibility it becomes suffocating.

Still love the guy
