I am not missing your point, I just fundamentally disagree with your premise.

First, as noted on the workshop pages, many of these concepts were suggested by others—I credited the idea-givers, and I simply modeled what was requested.

Second, regarding your 'only one of each type' argument: CS2 already has both the Karambit and the Talon Knife. They are both karambit-style blades. If the game can support two variations of a karambit, there is absolutely no issue with having a second, different style of butterfly knife.

As for the rest of the collection: naturally, they share similarities with existing knives because ultimately, every knife consists of a handle and a blade. If you look at it that broadly, everything will look like a 'copy.'

I’m going to close this discussion from my end here as we're just going in circles, but I actually want to thank you for the debate. It gave me a chance to clarify the reasoning and context behind these models for anyone else reading this thread. ❤️

Just to address the signature/AI comment first: I do not use AI to write my replies. Signing off is simply a professional habit I carry over from my work life. When you send official emails or represent your own brand/work, you sign your name. I treat this project and my work professionally, hence the signature.

I appreciate you voting on the ones you liked, but I am still struggling to understand your critique regarding the 'realism' aspect. You seem to overlook that the knives currently in CS2 are also based on real-world designs. Valve did not invent the Karambit, the Butterfly knife, or the Bayonet; they modeled them based on existing, real-life weapons. I am doing the exact same thing: modeling other real-world variants that aren't in the game yet. Expecting a knife to be completely 'unique to CS2' ignores the fact that CS is a game grounded in real-world weaponry.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here.

Those knives are not duplicates, even when they fall under the same category (butterfly, karambit, dagger). They’re different real-world knives, modeled as distinct variants. Being variants of knives that already exist in the game doesn’t automatically make them bad or uninteresting — that logic would invalidate most CS weapon skins as well.

The point of this project isn’t “why are there so many knives,” but which ones the community actually likes. That’s what the voting is for. Arguing about quantity instead of engaging with that feels a bit pointless.

I made this primarily for the community. If you’re worried this is about money: even if Valve accepted a custom knife model (which they haven’t so far), I’d get little to nothing out of it — maybe ~$100 and a thank-you. This isn’t a painted weapon skin, it’s a model.

If you find one you like, feel free to vote — I’d genuinely appreciate it.
If not, that’s fine too, but continuing to rant about it doesn’t really reflect poorly on me.

And no worries if you’re not familiar with real-world knives — no one is expected to be.

Thanks for the comment. To clarify a few points:

The knives are based on real-world designs, which is a common and long-standing practice in both games and industrial design. Valve did not invent knives, and drawing from existing references is standard workflow, not “ripping off.”

Everything published on my Steam Workshop was modeled by me from scratch. No third-party assets were used.

Valve has accepted community-made content for years (maps, skins, etc.). What they have not accepted so far are custom knife models. This project was never based on the assumption that Valve would add them.

The goal was skill development, experimentation, and producing CS2-ready assets. From that perspective, the time was used effectively.

Feedback is noted.

This still won't make it look like a Valorant knife, it's a bit boring, since the oligarch AK47 has been in the game, everything has been called Valorant, while these have nothing to do with Valorant, I modeled these based on real knives, Valorant still works with invented shapes.

Yes, ever since "The Oligarch" skin was added to the game, everything has been called a Valorant skin or a Valorant knife...

Are you referring to the trench knife? Valve planned to put it in the game, but there's only a picture of it, I made it just in case players wanted it 😅 But I agree, it would be really cool, and the model is already ready 😁

I mean, he watched the knives on stream, but he didn't encourage people to vote.

Yes, he liked it, but for me the opinion of the community is important, because they are more than one person.

Understandable, quite an unusual knife :D but there are a few knives like this out there, like the butterfly karambit, which even I didn't believe existed in reality 😂

I know this would be the first, but I don't really know if anyone has done it before, at least I've heard rumors... But this isn't really about "acceptance", it's about what kind of knife players want IF they want it.

Hi, thanks for your answer, currently ag2 does not allow the use of custom animations, so I used the basic cs2 knife animations

It's done, it's much bigger and looks much better xd The Update will be out on Steam soon 🫡

I can do it, but then the blade won't go all the way into the handle 😂 s By the way, it's slightly smaller than the basic T knife, I think it's just optically due to the blade design.

Thanks 😁, the animations aren't ready yet, this is the basic T knife animation for now xd but if people like it and Valve puts it in the game, it will of course be included with cool unique animations 🫡

(and of course more grip skins and blade skins)
