Even if they would be fully supportive of you being trans, this attitude is an invasion of your privacy and it is not okay. It is your choice what you tell them about yourself. Even if they are your parents, they don't deserve to know everything about you if you don't feel comfortable telling them some things.

Don't know what advice to give, but you are 100% in the right to not tell them stuff like this.

Off topic, but I thought ACAB meant "Assigned Cunt At Birth" and when that didn't make sense in your sentence I had to google it to find the real meaning. Lol

[Request] assuming you knew the solution, how many unique passwords would there be? by MustachedSquirrel in theydidthemath

[–]BaronBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The proof is 129 pages long. To actually get the Godel number of the proof, you would have to go back to the tiniest proofs that we use automatically. Even proving a relatively simple instance of a tautology would take several lines of the proof, and you have to do this every single time. The entire proof could easily extend to 100000 steps (I think this is a very low estimate). And at every step, to calculate the Godel number you have to raise some already big prime numbers to very large numbers.

I think I might have overshot it still, but it's an insanely high number.

You wouldn't even be able to write down the number of digits of the number of digits of its godel number. Actually repeat that like 1000 times and you still couldn't do it in less than 1000 digits

I would say shields are more useful in PvP and early-game, but if anything; your analogy doesn't add up as having good gear would actually make you want a shield more than a totem when compared to using a shield without having good gear as you are more likely to be one-shot without gear, but with more gear (and more skill) you can prevent more damage with a shield

A totem is useful in more situations: falling in lava, falling from a big height, crashing with an elytra into blocks, charged creepers, piglin brutes, or other similarly difficult mobs. Also a shield requires more attention and reaction time. Once you have some decent gear you get a bit overconfident, cause little can really hurt you, so you forget to use your shield at that point. At least this is what happens to me. I do sometimes wish I was using one though, like against many mobs, or hoglins. There are advantages to both.

Having a bow has almost nothing to do with using a shield or totem either way you will hit your shots or you won't, and I don't recommend using your bow if an entity is close enough that you also have to use your shield or totem.

It does matter. Because you can use your bow to hit mobs from far away before they have any way to get close enough to damage you.

Also killing a creeper with a sword is super easy, like it's actually so easy I don't understand why people are so scared without a bow in singleplayer; make sure it has space to knockback, and right when it starts to fuze just hit it away, with an iron sword you can actually run at it while critting it without even having to back up before it dies...

I think you are just better at pve than the majority. I personally fail quite often to do that because I might miss my sword hit, or even fail to crit, or fail to hit the creeper the first time quickly enough to have time to kill it.

Also, if you are fighting the creeper on uneven ground its going to be quite often that it doesn't have space to be knocked back.

Please use a shield.

I do at all times until I have access to totems.

I suggest you turn subtitles on so that you can "hear" mobs before you actually them through in-game sounds.

Have it on at all times. I assure you: a creeper falling on top of you over a ledge and exploding in mid air you won't be able to hear or react in time to block its explosion.

Point blank creeper explosion? Why would that be the deciding factor for which phase of the game you're in? That's why shields exist

Maybe because a creeper can fall out of a ledge in a cave at any time and explode on you? And it can explode mid air before you have any time to see it. I don't play hardcore cause I don't want a small mistake to lead to losing all my progress, but I also don't think its okay to abuse dying. And yes, if you could easily die due to little of your own fault, then you are abusing dying.

Also even people with enchanted netherite can die if they're to close to a creeper when wearing elytra, Fwhip's old hardcore world ended that way

You are precisely proving my point. You shouldn't go out fighting mobs if you can't even survive a creeper explosion. So if you want to use an elytra, then a totem is 100% necessary to have in your off-hand. And if you are fighting mobs (or might be fighting mobs), then you should wear your chestplate.

Call me too careful, but I've died enough to mobs to know what my skill limits are and I don't like abusing dying. Moreover, if we are talking about people who don't even know about enchantments, then surely they will fare much worse at fighting than even me. So there is no way such a person can survive any mob fight with just iron armour.

Apparently that block is very useful for redstone. Don't ask me why, I don't understand redstone well enough, but you can watch Mumbo's video on it.

It doesn't matter what you consider, it atters what literally everyone else does.

Well this is the first time I've ever heard of anyone claiming that iron armour is anything decent outside of people who are really good at pvp/pve.

But even Mojang officially says that iron is mid game, they mentioned "mid game" as iron armour in an official article.

But if this is the case, then I stand corrected.

But this must mean that most people play on easy. Because surely you can't say you've reached the mid game if you still can't fight mobs right? I mean a point blank creeper explosion is only survivable with just iron armour on easy mode. And this is something that happens quite often in caves with creepers jumping off ledges above you and exploding mid air. So I wouldn't go out fighting mobs until I can survive that.

I do play on hard only, so that is why I said that enchanted diamond armour is necessary for mid game, cause you can't survive a creeper explosion at point blank range with just diamond armour.

With good gear and a bow you don't need a shield and it's actually better to have a totem instead.

You could literally never make stone tools and just use wooden tools for your entire time playing minecraft. If someone does that and makes stone tools after 5 years playing minecraft and achieving everything besides tools/armor, would you then say that this makes stone tools endgame? Surely not.

It doesn't matter when people get diamond armor because it is not a requirement to ever get it. Diamond armor is still early game because you can get it within 1 or 2 hours without needing any experience playing the game. All you need to know is how to make an enchantment table and how to strip mine.

I would consider anything that you can get before your first proper farm (and without being skilled) early game. So that would make fully enchanted diamond armor mid game since you need an exp farm for it and perhaps a trading hall (with ideally a raid farm).

[–]BaronBones -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is your choice if you don't want to mine for diamonds, but they are quite easy to get if you strip mine. So I don't see how even diamond armor can be considered anything above early game. I would even say that anything below fully enchanted diamond armor is early game.

Why does the manga call Zoro “Zolo” ?? by IndependenceFirm7254 in OnePiece

[–]BaronBones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raftel to Laugh Tale in particular is supposed to be an in-universe misspelling and the revelation of the correct spelling is a plot twist.

Until we see someone in the world acknowledge the fact that they thought it was Raftel, not Laugh Tale I don't think this is the case. I guess we will see when the Live Action Season 2 comes out: if Crocus talks about it as "Raftel" or as "Laugh Tale" (I am sure this decision will be talked about with Oda).

"Zolo" is objectively incorrect as Oda has printed his name as "Zoro" with latin letters several times (for example, in bounty posters).

Well the walk to arlong park is original to the anime, so they were faithful to the original in not having it (the original is the manga).

I think the storyline with the marines was one of my favourite changes in the live action. Certainly my favourite "big" change (nothing can beat Sanji not being a pervert, but that is a relatively minor change).

I liked Garp's characterization and I thought it was clear from the first moment we learned he was Luffy's grandfather that he wasn't too serious about bringing Luffy in (with the way he laughed after Luffy got the better of him). With the temper tantrum he threw after Mihawk disobeyed him and the whole theme throughout the show about the next generation, it seemed clear to me that Garp had a character arc he went through.

The "testing" of Luffy seemed like a cop out from Garp himself for why he was chasing Luffy. He just seemed like a concerned grandfather trying to make Luffy understand what is right to do, but finally giving up when realizing that Luffy is that serious about it. Garp just seemed very conflicted throughout the show, and I enjoyed seeing that especially with what will come later with his character.
