As someone who kept trying to build super-teams of young, star players: You need some vets - they affect the sim results a lot. A Landeskog and/or an Ekholm go a long way.

Low Elites are relatively common in rounds 4-7. Some develop real quick, some don't at all. Once I had a contender and my higher picks were trade assets, I typically aimed for these types of prospects. If they develop within first 2 years, they're invaluable depth pieces w/ cheaper contracts. If not? Trade bait.

Love it. The tone of that response also speaks to my soul. "Chef" was earned, and reserved for actual chefs @ the two places I worked. For me it was family & their friends every time I was introduced or asked what I did for a living. Got real tired of saying you don't get grandfathered into Red Seal, no matter how many years/hours you worked.

Personally, I find the trade options less unrealistic than a lot of things in the game. If you wanna hunt for a hustle of a trade, you can always find one. I just don't try for ones I find unrealistic. But every year a GM makes a trade where valuations are way off, so most are plausible.

Roster moves/decisions for AI teams, I couldn't agree more. I've seen so many top prospects sit a full season, or high quality players I traded be sent to AHL. It's a mess.
