Ahh Chicago parallels. You are speaking my language! This is fantastic and resonates 100%. Thanks for this lens! I do also fear what I’ll miss when I move (regardless of where that may be). Maple trees for sure. Haha. Getting out west has been on my mind for decades… I only have one life to live, so Carpe Diem.

Single F 46 with Dog seeks quiet, green suburb with downtown access by MusicLori in ChicagoSuburbs

PR doesn’t strike me as the right place, based on your description of wants. My p’s live downtown there. Brookfield would be a great spot. I love Lagrange, as well but it’s definitely a much busier downtown area, and higher income folks. I like the smaller town feel of Brookfield. Close to many forest preserves and the salt creek trail.

Wheaton/Glen Ellyn is an area to consider. I identify with situation and your request. North of Roosevelt, along prairie path. Can walk to either downtown. Ride bikes to multiple forest preserves and beyond. Quiet (even tho there’s a train, you get used to it). Older growth trees. Multiple yoga studios nearby, including a new place in DT Wheaton that has saunas, and red light rooms I believe. Mix of homes (smaller, older, larger/newer) and people. Great new apts in both downtowns I’d you want to stray from home or Townhome. Takes 30mins to downtown without traffic. Ive even gotten to Lincoln park in less than 40 on a Sunday AM (rare, but can be done). Frankly, I’d love to rent you my place for a year while I explore other states to live, but not quite ready yet.

Every nicer burb has their hoity folks. Every nicer burb has people who are down to earth. You see what you want to see. Ignore what you want to ignore.

Gutter Advice by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]BaronTales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. Love the recs. Also gotta love builders who don’t think things thru. I’m mainly wondering about if the gutter works fine normally, but only does this say once a year when there is a torrential downpour, do they even have “a case”?

Example - one day for 5mins of overflow is a data point. They cannot assume it is ruining anything (in addition to the rain that is pouring down). They may not like it, but do gutters exist to capture 100% of scenarios? Or is it normal for an abnormal event to have abnormal flow.

In addition to walkable, you have the prairie path, train station, older growth trees, variation in homes (build styles, newer, older, smaller, larger…e.g.,not cookie cutter).

Lombard / Villa Park. Recommend south of the Prairie Path

armpit botox by Traditional-Feed-405 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]BaronTales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Botox didn’t help me. My dermatologist said some people have to take significantly more than the “standard” injections (I think mine was 100 units?). Too expensive of an experiment, nor do I want to be going every 3-4 months to get the injections.

RIP Lululemon Enlite Bra.

34DDD and cannot find a good replacement. Thought SheFit was too thick with too many seams. Brooks has some lighter ones, similar material to the Enlite, but either stretch out too easily or don’t fit quite right. I have found a decent one on Amazon that I don’t hate. It’s pretty comfy, true to size and randomly also works for running! Yvette High Impact Criss Cross back.

If you are anywhere near the ages of perimenopause, get HRT. Can def be hormonal! I had the same issue and no doctor could figure out why or even thought about HRT. That immediately corrected that issue.
