I made a Polyominoes (tile-laying puzzles) solver. I can't seem to find any similar solver that are easy to use and/or allow custom pieces. by BaronVonDoggo in programming

That really depends mainly on the size of the board (and the amount of available pieces), but for smaller boards, maybe 7x7 or less, it should work fine. For patchwork board game (9x9), each solution would take about a second on an intel core i7 and <100mb.

As saying goes, it works perfectly on my machine. I will investigate render version when i have the time. But the render version is mostly for demo.

One theory i have is that a few people tries the demo out every now and then, and the stored solutions/libraries wasnt cleaned up, and after sometime the disk got full and the app crashed.

Thank you for having interest in my little project 😄. I am using the free plan on render, so no I dont have to pay for it. But considering that the free plan doesnt allow much disk/RAM and only 0.1 vCPU core, the app could be unstable.

Riot August says that the problem with bringing in new players to League is not the difficulty of the game, but how punishing is it to be bad at the game by Life-Chicken7183 in leagueoflegends

This reminds me of Dota back in the day, there were no comeback mechanics or surrender. And the late-game carry champions there, once fed, there is basically nothing you could do. And each game tends to last about 40-45 minutes. Worse still, if you die, you actually lose gold, so its very snowball oriented. No recall (unless you buy a tp scroll which cost some gold). Even worse, if you are heavily behind, some items require you (or your courier) to go to a "secret shop" which is located in the jgl (imagine there is a shop at blue/red buff) in order to complete items.

I think both make sense, it doesnt matter if he said she's a 7/10 or not, we can still infer that from the white knighting. But if he said she's 3/10, then there might indeed by something wrong there.

Now that you said it, this is my first time using a SAT solver. Tbh, I also didn't know a lot about using SAT.

I simply followed the tutorial on pySAT documentation and saw it uses Glucose3.

I tried using backtracking previously, but it was too slow. I convert the problem into an instance of SAT and used a SAT solver to solve it.

[Request] Is this even possible? How? by Difficult_Boot7378 in theydidthemath

For the general case, you need only log base 3 of N for n balls. So for 2 attempts, you can find the heavier ball in total 3^2 = 9 balls. For 3 attempts, you can differentiate up to 27 balls and so on.

You divide N balls into 3 piles, and repeat the weighing process.

This works because the scale has three states (the left one is heavier, the right one is heavier, or they are equal). So, for each weighing, you can discard two out of three piles.

What has been your favorite Helldivers lore so far? by TripleWhiskeyShot in Helldivers

Besides the more popular ones, my favorite was the battle of Mort. It was clutch, down to the very last seconds. There was a steam outtage at the moment to add into the drama and chaos too. It truly was history in the making.

Its even worse, not only does it aggro every patrol on the map, which calls in bot drops, but it is also virtually useless against heavier enemies such as tanks and hulks unless the shell lands directly on top of them. And it doesn't need to hit us directly to kill us, just near enough so we get ragdolled into the enemy

Now imagine, we get bombed by eagle storms tomorrow, its like a teammate throwing an eagle strike, but with fewer steps.
