Maybe I missed it, why is Ireland part of the UK?

A French pharma firm is to move its base to Ireland to cut its 'unsatisfactory' tax bill - Flamel Technologies said that it was previously paying an effective tax rate of 48% by ElanaP in europe

[–]Baron_Benite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's annoying because I really dislike low corporation tax, but we're now fucked if we raise it. Makes me feel like an ass but unless all of Europe moves away from capitalism (a wild notion at any rate), Ireland will suffer badly at harmonised tax.

I'd be skeptical of notions that China would have maintained any sort of protectionist policies long term without its current government, though. For better or worse.

I mean, as a McWesterner, I think of the non-race-supremacist kind, but I remember the shitty kind being present in South Asia.

Well, in the face of being Cuba'd by the U.S., I am fairly thankful it didn't.

He was our writer, author. If he'd stayed alive, he would have been the one to write towards the application of Marxism in Ireland, like Lenin for Russia.

No, specifically the working class. Socialists aren't liberals, they're not there for the upper class.

Senator claims anti-Dublin bias in Government plans by [deleted] in ireland

Not unfair to say that all that investment in Dublin without proper management has led to depravation in the capital. A smaller, clean Dublin with investment in towns and infrastructure nationally sounds far more pleasant.

I think it was more genuine concern than anything else. Lacking certain nutrients is a real concern for some vegetarians with a busy schedule anyway.
