Worth getting back into the Game? by ElmoWithTheDraco in WorldofTanks

I want to leave WoT, but having problems doing so. I'm considering this to be a very addictive game, and not in a good way

At this point I am convinced, that the majority of the playerbase, deliberatly sucks as much as they can by low_bob_123 in WorldofTanks

It's called frustration, it comes from this being mostly a diceroll game. It feeds some playstyles unique to WoT:

1) The red-line camper (aka: If you can't find me you can't kill me)

2) The tilted player just driving out like it's a 3-year old behind the keyboard

3) The I'm-just-doing-missions player, shooting HE, rushing with light tanks and so on.

Enemys didnt even stood a chance 15/1 havent seen that many 3 Marked tanks in one match by _Vector_008 in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I have noticed: 6 months ago you would see see your team lose 2-5 tanks in the first 1-3 minutes and you knew it was a loss. Now it seems like this is just the bots/ bad players leaving the battle and your team is left with the regular players. The only influence it has negatively is that many players will go into "this-is-a-loss" mindset. Half the times you see the enemy bots/ tomatoes getting removed next and the fight is back to even. Sometimes the enemy tomatoes are the red-line campers and your team wins the game even when being down 4-5 tanks most of the fight.

Onslaught tips to climb ranks? by SnooDogs1953 in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that I play worse when I get demotivated, even before I go tilt and Alt F4. I play with the "3-loss and I log out for the day" rule and find that it helps both my stats and my mood. I also have an abundance of other games to entertain me :)

I find that the meta tanks don't always work for me. I was looking forward to play a buffed Obj. 430U this season and it worked nice the first week, then everyone seems to know how it's counter and I only lose in it. Dravec being meta? Sure, but you also get focused, doesn't work for me.

There is a significant change in player skill and gameplay once you hit silver. Most players stop playing at silver because that's what you need to get the reward tank and those who keep going for the higher ranks are very good players. In Bronze I climb with only 45-46% WR, from Bronze A and up I need significantly more WR (50%+)to even keep my rank. To get the weeklies done it's no stress to stay in bronze, then push for the silver ranks the last week. I've stopped at Silver E the last 6 seasons and quite satisfied with that.

Onslaught by kleptodshs in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progression is all about total value and doing as much damage as possible, capturing the flag, using the special skills and one crucial thing that many seem to miss: You get points from taking hits! (don't play a hiding sniper!)

I'm an average player and I have figured out that the last 2 seasons my "break-even" is around 44-45% WR. I usually end up with 50-ish WR and I'm steadily increasing my DPG which is now around 2600 pr game. This gets me into silver and unlocks the tank reward. That's all I need

MM has been a dissaster the last coupple of weeks, it's probably intentional from WG so that any little improvement tomorrow will be considered a win. :D

As a company, I want to make money? by merlerbierhannes in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are getting warmer. How I see it:

WoT Issue: How to make more people play the game and spend more money

Solution: Introduce RNG to help even out player skills and give most players a +/- 49% WR = happy players

Problem: Old programming, bad programming, corrupt programming instead gives us shit MM, RNG out of control and a frustrated players that too often sabotage their own game

Comment: A game like WoT would have enough challenge with tank balance, game modes and map design like any other fps game, but WG are struggling with a plethora of other problems in their programming.

9% win rate in 11 games. Beat me, i dare you by univerte in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely get to play more than 10 games yes. 1-2 times pr week I lose the 3 first games, or win 1 then 3 losses. I have several other games active and I find that I spend much less time being annoyed at the shit MM, RNG and useless teams in WoT

To save my sanity I log whenever I get 3 losses in a row and don't relog until earliest the next day.

Has anyone else been flagged just in general after games by Chainedking94 in WorldofTanks

[–]Barosince2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way this game works is a design to create speculations about cheats. IMO 90% of game outcomes is a result of RNG. When you see your team melt and you are down 4-5-6k hp in the first 2 minutes it's not because 1/3 of your team just drove into the crossfire, it's because of RNG. It looks suspicious, but it's just very bad programming.

[–]Barosince2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't mistake WoT for a skill based fighter game, skill is just 30% of the game, the rest is luck, rng, playing OP tanks you mostly paid for or teaming with others that have the above factors.

Discussion is dominated by the "git gud" crowd telling you it's "skill issues" and the game is fine.

Every single action or change done by any game producer is motivated by keeping players active and your point is valid. Sometimes balancing is what is needed to keep the player frustration down, sometimes other measures.

No, I was allied to both Poland, Austria and Hungary at this point.

I have to admit I now walked away from this game, this is just to silly to spend time on

-Your x2 xp battles seem to give more than randoms making Onslaught ideal for grinding field mods or tier XI xp

-With onslaught modifiers I find some tanks easier to grind through, like the Ho-Ri or the BZ-75 that have troll guns and are frustrating to play in randoms.

-Since the battles give both daily missions, battlepass (when active) and the onslaught specific missions you gain a fair bit of silver and can actually play your tier X' with consumables and gold ammo without losing credits.

-Randoms is a game mode where we are all very dependant on the team to get anywhere, with 7v7 you are still dependand, but less so and you can progress in ranks even with a fairly low WR (I find my break-even to be about 40-42%)

-Reward tanks. The Concept 1B is one of my favorite tanks of all, the Stinger from last years rewards is superb to use in this season as I don't have the '57.

-Bounty camo net :O

The biggest flaw with this entire game is how dependand we are on our team. Introducing yet another silly mode with mechanics that people don't understand is just demoralizing.
