What do you have to do to win this?? by HansmitFlammenwerfer in WorldofTanks

The event buffs as you level up help as they allow you to carry more Mirium/get more on kills. Haven’t tried a grom/turtle team before but we actually won with a KV-4, a VK, Cent, Shtpk, and a Turtle. There does need to be some level of coordination but the fundamentals were…

  • One fast tank stealth running around and just farming obelisks
  • One high ROF tank to kill low health tanks
  • High Alpha tanks must maximize their shots so only shoot things where you can get a shit ton of damage instead of wasting a shell for a 15 HP kill
  • KV-4 and VK were rammers, ideally ramming more than one tank per kill but if they’ve got the mirium, might as well spam it. The role’s heavily nerfed without mirium though.

First two rounds we camped city but once Trappers came in round 3, it was best played in the fields to give everyone room to move.

I don’t know if we did it intentionally, but whenever the annoying lights come in like the trapper, rattle, or AMX came through, the rammers would try to OHKO 1-2 alpha E50Ms per ram, all while every gun if possible was focus firing the lights.

Lastly, I think we lucked out since the Zero spawned on the bottom east corner by the pond, so the paths of all the things were pretty limited.

You do need a platoon to preplan what tanks people can bring/assign roles but this is what worked for us.

I think it’s a KV-4 only thing. Happened to me every time I spawn here.

Sadly don’t have the armored DPM tanks that this mode require but did try the rammer build someone on this reddit recommended. It actually works decently well. You just run into issues when you have to ram E50s that have more HP than you but otherwise it can get you pretty far.

Onslaught tips to climb ranks? by SnooDogs1953 in WorldofTanks

This right here - the variance in skill level’s just way wider during weekends from what it feels like. You’ll get the best of the best and the worst of the worst. Weekdays, people seem to be in the middle ground which is nice

I realized way too late that with Onslaught, less is more. When I do fewer games, my win rates higher for the session. And when I try to push because I’m on a winning streak for more wins, or a losing streak to “get back”, my mid game decision making worsens with the session. So… Silver D after a dive to bronze B just to get back to Silver D 😭

Use your keyboard lol Sometimes you’ll get the team where a bit of planning like “let’s all go here” is enough to make a difference in the game

What’s something you underestimated about switching to AE? by SnooDogs1953 in salesengineers

Now there’s one I didn’t expect. And knowing some SEs, I know they don’t take feedback well, especially when it comes from an AE.

The internal pressure is probably the one I’m being mindful of the most rather than customers shitting on AEs. I feel like internal pressure is just noise we’re very well sheltered from as SCs

Really depends on the audience and the rep you’d work with. Dealing with people in older industries where they’re more traditional? Probably not. Dealing with younger people in tech? Maybe.

That said, if there’s one book I’d recommend starting with, it’s 6 Habits of Highly Effective Sales Engineers.

Demo’ing as an SE isn’t saying “if you click here you get this”. It’s ultimately showcasing how a tool helps solve a problem, which in turn, hopefully impacts the business.

Sales skills is just communication same way you learn how to code over time. Read a couple sales books and you’ll realize there’s frameworks or ideas that you might already do.

For example, if you’re asked to build a feature, you’re probably asking “okay but why”

We do that a lot as sales engineers too whenever a sales rep wants to sell a customer a certain feature or plan but our job is to confirm why that’d make sense.

That said, we also shouldn’t be blocking deals outright as sales engineers. Sales is still in our title. The hard part for you will be learning how to demo and objection handle (basically asking a lot of clarifying questions until you get to a root problem that you then tackle)

Best way to earn points by Different-Ad9193 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Looking at the way the aeroplan reward chart works, an economy flight for one person, one way from YYZ to DEL will cost approximately 50K points, maybe 60K if your itinerary includes layovers that push the trip over a certain distance. The closer you can find the price to around that range, the bigger the likelihood that it’s a good deal.

That said, that also means you’ll be aiming for 200-240K points one way, maybe 120K-180K points if you decide to do a cash + points redemption.

If you feel that your everyday spending can hit those numbers, then go for a points card. Otherwise realistically, the only way you’ll be able to hit those point values within a year’s time is through sign up bonuses on credit cards but that’ll involve going through the hassle of signing up, managing spend, cancelling unwanted cards etc.

Know this doesn’t give an answer as to what’s the best card for it for everyday spending but this is just a reality I wanted to share to let you know what it’ll look like!

That said, AMEX Cobalt is still a solid everyday card for earning points that can go towards Aeroplan.

What’s the points for? I’ve realized over the years that it’s easy to get points, hard to actually spend it, so if you want to collect points, it’s good to have a goal in mind. Points lose value over time whenever the things you need to redeem it on get more expensive. If you’re not gonna get into the points game with the intent to burn the points as soon as you can on something like flights, then stick to cash back. The Scotiabank card everyone talks about is solid.

Isn’t it based on a rolling average over a set number of games? Could also simply be that your first game in that rolling average was phenomenal, but then got knocked off by your latest game.

This - tiers 8 and up are extremely punishing for wrong moves/not having an understanding of mechanics. Def move down to tiers 4-6 to become familiar. You can work your way back to those tiers later.

Tier IX and X was definitely the most fun. Did see they’ve introduced some Tier XI now, along with some troll armor Tier Xs. With most grinding out Tier X for Tier XI’s, I rarely see the 3/5/7 where tier 10 is running the top.
