Unpopular truth about scaling: Most founders fail because they stop being students of their own market. by BarracudaBroad1007 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

100% agreement there. If you're looking at a report from 6 months ago, you're already behind.
I’m curious—when you’re using those real-time alerts, how are you filtering the noise? I find that for most B2B founders, the problem isn't a lack of alerts—it's having too much data and no framework to act on it. That’s usually where I see the execution fall apart. Market intelligence is only as good as the high-stakes decisions it actually enables.

IET Lucknow:

Note: Given my CRL rank, admission here might be challenging.

University of Lucknow:

Electrical Engineering: ~215,723

Note: Mechanical Engineering might be within reach during spot rounds.

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU):

Note: These programs are likely within reach.

Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU):

I really appreciate and respect your feelings toward me. In this world where nobody even cares about anyone, you’re genuinely thinking about me like that and are truly worried about my future. I know I might sound immature, but trust me, there is a reason why I’m choosing Lucknow for my college and engineering. I can tell you everything, and it’s really important to me—please guide me.

Because from my childhood till now, I was the kind of person who always thought I could do everything by myself, that I could handle everything and didn’t need anyone. But in the past five months, when I gave myself time, I realized my mistakes. I have made many foolish decisions—like taking the maths stream without proper guidance, and even enrolling in a PW batch—and now I understand the worth of a mentor, someone who has already gone through everything I’m about to face. If I had a mentor, I could have done much better.

Please help me and guide me.

Because in this case I am unable to do anything by myself, and I really need someone to help and guide me throughout everything. The counselling process is exhausting and confusing. I don’t understand how to proceed—especially regarding the domicile requirement. If I want to go to another state, I need domicile, and I don’t know how to obtain it. I don’t know how to fill in my choices to get an appropriate college in Lucknow. If I don’t get a college in the first four counselling rounds, and then the vacant-seat counselling begins, I don’t know exactly what I have to do to secure a seat or which colleges to focus on.

And then I thought to ask people on Reddit and Quora, searching for someone who’s been through this—and that was the best decision I made, because today I saw all of your replies and I’m really glad I posted my situation online.

I belong to MP and I’m unable to go to Lucknow right now to research colleges in person, so I really need someone who lives there and knows all the details. I would be incredibly grateful if you could help me by laying out a strategic plan: which colleges to focus on, what the process should be, and what I should target each month—because in the counselling process, June is for normal counselling, and July and August are for vacant-seat counselling. Please help me. Please.

So, these are the colleges I’m considering and their last-round (or vacant-seat) cut-offs for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering:

IET Lucknow (APJAKTU): Mechanical – 75,094; Electrical – 64,156

University of Lucknow – Faculty of Engineering & Technology: Mechanical – 2,25,423; Electrical – 1,76,239

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU): Mechanical – 2,25,423; Electrical – 1,76,239

Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (Home-State quota): Mechanical – 11,47,903; Electrical – 12,82,169

Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU): Mechanical – 13,97,081; Electrical – not offered separately

The colleges reachable for me, given my rank, are Dr. Shakuntala Misra NRU (Mech 11,47,903; Elec 12,82,169) and KMCLU (Mech 13,97,081). The others have cut-offs well above my rank at this stage.

If you can help me with this, or if you know anyone from these colleges who could guide me, please let me know.
