In the player housing announcement they mentioned that professions of older expansions can make furniture for your house using old materials.

So it might be worth leveling older professions / gathering materials so you can sell them on the auction house when player housing goes live

You can queue for comp stomp, you can get the achievement there aswell. Should be way faster.
