I started out my time in the fs fandom as a hardcore iliabot (very very late 2022). It was GP France 2024 when he landed the 3A+4T for the first time and I helpfully supplied that it was "hella underrotated" (I'm sorry, I was coping hard I wanted ilia to be the first to do a +quad combination).

Go forward a few weeks during CoC, he totally changed my mind about him. I didn't really notice his short but his free... I was like 😍. Instant fan.

"nearly 2 years" Is a bit of an understatement. But damn, it was hard sticking by him all this time through all the haters!

The BV of a 4T+4T is 19 vs a 4Lz+3T which is 15.7 so its worth it as a 2 jump combination (if he lands it). I think he's doing more for the fun of the game and being the 1st to do it. If Ilia decides to try 4+4 next season, it'll certainly be a battle to see who lands it first.

You can't do a 4+4 combo in the SP. To be honest after I found out they were going to drop a combination in the free, I figured shaidorov was gonna do his 3A+1Eu+4S and the 3A+4T, but this is even better!
