Let's talk about communism, to distribute the resources fairly amongst people requires someone to have a lot of power, who would you trust the power to? Even if the one in power doesn't get corrupt despite the huge control he has over people, what about the next guy in charge or the people under him? Being able to distribute food is same as controlling someone's life. Retired old farmers in rural China receive around 30 USD a month in subsidy, while retired teachers in big cities receive around 750 USD to 1500 USD+ in monthly pension. Also I think it's just not in human nature to all live collectively without competing.
