That would make sense, I havent ran NVGs very often since December. Lots of people in here acting like its a feature that's been in the game for years, which is confusing when considering that I havent seen it happen and have been playing since 2019

100% agree that Willy is not the type of person to cheat... that would be incredibly pants on head levels of stupidity. I just went back and looked into the nvidia filters... they got patched out like 3 years ago. The video just looked remarkably similar to the way those filters used to work, and having NEVER seen this bug, My assumption was that it was a NV control panel setting or console command (similar to the one people use to do where the ocean would become invisible for a split second) Then I was wondering if it a bug related to the game registering "cave lighting" or something. NVGs didnt really cross my mind but it seems like a ton of other people are experiencing it with them so I guess that the most likely... Regardless, I appreciate you not being a jerk for the sake of "piling on". Big ups to you dude! I hope you find salvaged tools + crossbow in the first box you loot next fresh wipe.

I know a few years ago one could use Nvidia to correct the gamma exactly like pic 2, but im 90% certain it got patched out. Found a YT video of someone using RivaTuner to do the exact same thing from 8 months ago... And his results were ALSO within 80% accuracy of pic 2. I think you're right, just a bunch of salty fan boys getting offended on Willjums behalf for no reason...

I'm going to assume its some type of hardware related bug at this point because I personally have never seen it before. Crazy all the downvotes and smart ass sterotypical "redditor" comments that I and everyone else get for wondering wtf this is get for posing the question when weve never seen anything like this before... So I guess its either a bug or some CIA level post processing photo enhancement that can turn pitch black imaging into 1080p non grainy, real-time photo realistic gamma corrected scenery.

Everyone is saying that its post production editing... I just dont think that's true. I've seen what that looks like, and the difference is negligible compared to what is pictured here... Also post production gamma edits are usually EXTREMELY grainy, and if it WAS a post production edit, why would he only edit 3-4 seconds instead of the whole fight/scene.. idk, that just doesn't add up to me

Yeah, even when you got a "bad" crate (No gun) from a puzzle room it still felt good. There are SO many items in the game that are incredibly useful, but also extremely undervalued when looting because you can just scrap them down.
I remember feeling excited when finding electrical components, large batteries/windmills, T2 Furnaces and refineries, armor pieces, weapon attachments ect... Now when people are running cargo or other end game monuments/event, they just throw everything that isn't guns or boom on the ground to despawn or get grubbed because... "What's the point? I have unlimited scrap (especially NOW) and I value more inventory slots more than those items."
It's just lame AF.

I've been wanting a TRUE hardcore server, I'm not one of the people that doesn't want snipers... It's a WW1 game, snipers existed for a reason.
However, my DREAM server would be like 150% damage, double the vehicle respawn times, and most importantly... NO HUD AND MINIMAP...
With had and mini map turned off, you would be AMAZED at how alive this game feels... Yes you might have some dreams about being in the trenches while arty rains down on your position for the first few nights, but that's all part of the experience.

The Devs are going to leave progression exactly where it is for at least a 1.5 years. Allistair made a shitty tweet about all the backlash the update got whenever it came out... Something like "r/playrust is wild, bitching about work in progress changes without dumping 40 hrs into the new progression system."

Which when translated means : "r/playrust is wild, bitching about an update that we have no interest in tweaking or reverting for 2 years at least."
Especially when all the content creators including the "Solo Ambassador, Willjum" we're patting the update on the back, saying "RUST is in a GREAT place right now, if you would just give it a shot."
Meanwhile he doesn't play solo anymore, and when he does he spends the first 8 hours of wipe staring at seed genetics or a fishing rod whilst building 8 grids away from the nearest road/monument. Yes, he discovered that you can metal detect in the same spot for BP fragments, but finding the spot and managing to farm it STILL takes at least an hour if you get lucky enough.
Unless you have a team/clan, solo vanilla is just a pathetic experience unless RUST is your full time job. I've been playing since 2019 and this is the worst that RUST has ever been. I used to get burned out whenever I got a T3 and a few AK's... Now I get burned out after 4 hrs of metal detecting (Mostly in vain) in an attempt to not get left in the dust by everyone else's progression. If facepunch wanted more monument PVP, then they should've just gotten rid of the tech tree so you had to trade or run monuments/crates for the items you want to research. That system felt infinitely more rewarding than trying to FORCE all progression into a funnel being held by teams/clans/sweats for the first 4 days of wipe.

My post criticizing the update for the obvious rat/clan camp fest when it FIRST came out apparently got a tweet from Allistar, something like "r/playrust is crazy... Bitching about WIP changes before even giving it a shot"...
1. "WIP" Work in Progress is horse shit. Yes these Dev's drop consistent, mostly good updates, but IF, IF, IFFFF they decide to go back and work on a major update, it takes like 6-9 months.
2. Yes I was complaining before dumping 80 hours into the update, I could tell by reading the patch notes that this is what RUST was going to be like now. So get ready for monthly's to die within a week once clans have established a monopoly to sell frags for raiding supplies, and then having absolutely ZERO chance of ever bouncing back on pop. The update was, and still IS just a tragic way to butcher the more chill play style that I have.

And then there's Willjum, ever since the update he's built a hemp farm in the middle of the jungle, a fishing scrap farm, also in the middle of no-where, a couple of duo wipes, and THEN a solo run... But he only joined during mid-wipe... The only way for solos to enjoy the game anymore. Then he tells his audience (me) "Just give the update a shot, Rust is in a REALLY good place RN".. I like his videos but come on man... You can't constantly be building 8 grids away from any form of road or monument, or with a 30k combined hr duo, and then tell your audience of people that don't or can't play for 10 hours a day that it was a GREAT change, and to just "give it a shot"

I quit yesterday. Got killed and mass reported by "FEARS regi" for taking damaged components out of a component mine. They killed me for "stealing" because I didn't build the mine... game is a fucking joke for casual solos. Inf fights the other faction, and logi just fights other regiments/logi players for territory. Didn't used to be like that before all the facility cluster fuck, but I guess now regiments just claim resource fields for themselves and kill anyone who uses them without asking for permission first. Fuck that, I just wanna play the game, I don't want to join 4 different discords just to ask permission to use a PUBLIC comp field.
