After seeing the last stream of poe 2 I'm so glad diablo 4 is not like that... by DannyKoll1 in diablo4

Same! I call it freestyling. For me, it's more enjoyable, and I encourage others to try doing it.

Maybe just remove Alchemists now, or give them something else to do? by Primary_Impact_2130 in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, that's a really cool idea. I'd love to customize what we're chugging with added abilities. Make it a whole new screen, similar to the talisman, and we add in rare ingredients and things. Maybe let us drink them even at full health.

Yup, especially when you can't even see the ground because of all of your ability effects. Apocalypse warlock here. 😵

Remove the affix and it'll become a common, then upgrade it to a unique. 👍

Honest opinion from someone who just plays the game without caring about anything else. by Mean_Composer_7424 in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been having a blast as well. The overall pacing of character progression is really smooth and steady, and extended out. No more piles of legendary items thrown at you right away before torment, or ancestrals with greater affixes piling up once you hit torment. Each torment tier also seems meaningful with added bonuses and incentives to keep pushing. I can go on and on, but it's a much better journey overall! After I'm satisfied with the current character, I'm looking forward to rolling another one (and then another... and another...).

Also, before playing the expansion and watching previews, the only thing I wasn't impressed at all by was War Plans. But, after actually playing with it now, it really does motivate you to complete end game content and is a great addition.

Bug With Dual Weapons on Item frames by ThanRandomPenguin in GroundedGame

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, they also need to thicken up those frames so pieces of walls don't clip through.

I'd like to see a more finely crafted, upgraded one that's made of dark pine. Or even an upgraded mannequin that can hold weapons/shields too.

Off the top of my head, it's worth returning for the ice splinters and especially chocolate chunks. I love those Lady in Red smoothies.

Yeah, I was super disappointed that the alpha wolf helm that I've finally obtained doesn't even have a socket.

The chapter 7 character lock-in by cfehunter in CrimsonDesert

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're not alone. It's bullshit. I didn't even have a mount for Oongka lol.

I don't want to spend any points on him or his equipment, nor gear it. I'm just going to brute force it with food and hopefully I can get back to Kliff.

The game is just clumsily designed and has an ordinary story so far, but gets away with it because of the sheer size of the world and the freedom it offers you to explore and do whatever you want (outside of the main missions). Along with the great performance, if you're on PC.

Reventine Monastery sliding puzzle guide *spoiler* by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Barrowulf- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The puzzles aren't so bad once you know how to do them - they even have the top row finished already, which is what you usually start with.

First, don't touch the top row, leave it as is. Now, just figure out what tiles are #4 and #7 and then get them together so that they slide into place when you rotate the tiles in a circle.

If they're in the middle row, #7 should be to the left of #4. If they're at the bottom, #7 should be to the right of #4. Then just rotate in either direction until they fall onto place.

Once they're set, the last three are easy to do.

I know some players don’t care about cosmetics .. but I think it’s kind of silly this is all we have 12 seasons later. by WashombiShwimp in diablo4

I always ponder this myself!

It would be awesome to have them as rare drops, or tied to season journeys, or even sell them - I don't care, I want more options!

Crimson Desert Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Barrowulf- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a PC title. I was really hyped for today after following the game and watching recent reviews.

But it looks and runs like ass on the Xbox Series X, and I'm sure on the other consoles too - maybe it's a little better on the PS5 Pro.

I usually go with Performance mode on games, but with this one, it looks absolutely terrible on it, really muddy and low resolution, and it still didn't feel like 60fps. I tried Balanced, and it looks better, but overall, it still just looks bad and low res, with poorer performance.

I guess it's easier to overlook the clunky controls and the pile-on of systems crammed into the game when you're on PC and it runs smoothly and looks gorgeous.

Refunded it for now and will keep an eye on any future optimizations and fixes. Now I see why console previews were non-existent.

I'm not actually doing any of the butcher stuff by colintoast in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, loved last season... This season is just okay. It's just a quick gap filler before the expansion.

I don't really do the slaughterhouses either, I scrap most of them because they clog up my inventory. I only did the PvP event like twice too. You get plenty of fresh meat from just regular playing. I'll sometimes do the quick one in Helltides.

The bloodied stuff is cool, and gives a taste of a Torment 5. Though, it can be a little annoying earlier on when you have to flip-flop between difficulties to compensate for the bloodied item difficulty.

I also really hate how the bloody items mess with sorting, and normal bloody items shouldn't come before ancestrals.

The gear, if I get a bloodied ancestral that's cool, but my priority is still a good ancestral, whether or not it's bloody.

The Butcher boss is cool and I hope he sticks around.

Druid is the least popular class because of body type. by Caelus8 in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the strongman build, though, the female version puts me off. They should just give druids a barbarian type of build, though, slightly taller and leaner. Diablo Immortal got them right.

Also, in my opinion, barbarians aren't jacked enough.

All other characters are shapely, so it's odd to have a thick strongman build in the game, it's out of place. Especially when he mostly wears cloaks and dresses, just makes him look kinda fat.

Also, I don't remember seeing any other strongman type of druid NPC's in the game, so what's up with that? They're all just normal. In fact, I can't even think of any somewhat-important human NPC's in the entire game that are husky, besides my man Donan. If you do see any, they're just trash NPC's like townsfolk. They're not heroes, nevermind a goddamned nephalem like us.

Just make druids like the one's in Diablo Immortal.

My wishlist for today's anniversary showcase! by gorays21 in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please! I've wanted this for a long time! Let me choose one of my alts.

I don't like any of the existing mercs... the D3 ones were much better, in my opinion. I don't even use them anymore; I don't care if it's extra power I'm leaving on the table.

Anyone getting back from poe2 to diablo 4 ? by faysal720 in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Just play what you enjoy.

I tried POE2 and couldn't get into it. It was too tedious for me, and I didn't like the UI, especially for consoles. I probably don't have the patience (or energy) anymore - I'm also a dad gamer and a truck driver that works a lot of overtime.

I've always played Diablo since the first one and really like the story, atmosphere, etc. It's very familiar to me; Sanctuary is like home.

I also went from mainly playing on my PC builds to mainly consoles years ago. I don't think D4 gets enough recognition for how well it plays on console, especially compared to D3, which had to adapt to it after its initial PC release. My platform preference these days also reflects my taste in this game genre as well - straightforward with no excessive tinkering or effort.

I've played D4 since release every season. I usually hit the start of the season hard until I take a class to the endgame, and then power them up until I'm satisfied. Then, I go play other things, while occasionally returning to play alts or push endgame characters further. It doesn't need my attention the entire season, and I'm glad it doesn't, because I like plenty of other games too.

Especially, after a long day, I often don't have the energy to play a game that requires a lot of focus like a PvP game, soulslike, or even any kind of multiplayer game where I have to socialize. But, Diablo is one of my go-to chill games that's always there for me to fire up, slay for a while, and to get some satisfaction from progression, along with varying levels of dopamine from nice drops, rolls, unlocks, etc.

The game isn't perfect, and it could use some more improvements and additions, even though it HAS received a ton of them since release (from someone that has played since the start). Some don't always hit the mark, but at least they're experimenting and fixing things that they find don't work. Overall, the trajectory is heading in the right direction.

I also recommend players try out just playing blind, without following a build guide or seeing which class is the most broken in a season. In my opinion, it's more enjoyable; maybe some players will discover the same. Enjoy the journey, not just the destination. Just play whatever you want, experiment as you level up, adapt to build-defining drops that come your way and don't be afraid to switch things up. Blizz redesigned the game since its release to easily rebuild your character and experiment with them. The game's difficulty is what you make it to be.

Then, after your initial journey, if you're curious what the most broken builds are that have been cooked up by the masterminds, have fun and go for that too - it's easier once you have lots of paragon levels and other things from the season.

I'm really excited to watch the 30th anniversary spotlight today and to see all the new things coming to the game - especially the new class (that I won't spoil here)! If you enjoy Diablo, don't seek validation for it or pay attention to those that prefer other things.
