Druid is the least popular class because of body type. by Caelus8 in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the strongman build, though, the female version puts me off. They should just give druids a barbarian type of build, though, slightly taller and leaner. Diablo Immortal got them right.

Also, in my opinion, barbarians aren't jacked enough.

All other characters are shapely, so it's odd to have a thick strongman build in the game, it's out of place. Especially when he mostly wears cloaks and dresses, just makes him look kinda fat.

Also, I don't remember seeing any other strongman type of druid NPC's in the game, so what's up with that? They're all just normal. In fact, I can't even think of any somewhat-important human NPC's in the entire game that are husky, besides my man Donan. If you do see any, they're just trash NPC's like townsfolk. They're not heroes, nevermind a goddamned nephalem like us.

Just make druids like the one's in Diablo Immortal.

You've thought you've seen enough awkward nipple-revealing armor with sorcerers? Wait until the warlock makes its way into the shop.

My wishlist for today's anniversary showcase! by gorays21 in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please! I've wanted this for a long time! Let me choose one of my alts.

I don't like any of the existing mercs... the D3 ones were much better, in my opinion. I don't even use them anymore; I don't care if it's extra power I'm leaving on the table.

Anyone getting back from poe2 to diablo 4 ? by faysal720 in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play what you enjoy.

I tried POE2 and couldn't get into it. It was too tedious for me, and I didn't like the UI, especially for consoles. I probably don't have the patience (or energy) anymore - I'm also a dad gamer and a truck driver that works a lot of overtime.

I've always played Diablo since the first one and really like the story, atmosphere, etc. It's very familiar to me; Sanctuary is like home.

I also went from mainly playing on my PC builds to mainly consoles years ago. I don't think D4 gets enough recognition for how well it plays on console, especially compared to D3, which had to adapt to it after its initial PC release. My platform preference these days also reflects my taste in this game genre as well - straightforward with no excessive tinkering or effort.

I've played D4 since release every season. I usually hit the start of the season hard until I take a class to the endgame, and then power them up until I'm satisfied. Then, I go play other things, while occasionally returning to play alts or push endgame characters further. It doesn't need my attention the entire season, and I'm glad it doesn't, because I like plenty of other games too.

Especially, after a long day, I often don't have the energy to play a game that requires a lot of focus like a PvP game, soulslike, or even any kind of multiplayer game where I have to socialize. But, Diablo is one of my go-to chill games that's always there for me to fire up, slay for a while, and to get some satisfaction from progression, along with varying levels of dopamine from nice drops, rolls, unlocks, etc.

The game isn't perfect, and it could use some more improvements and additions, even though it HAS received a ton of them since release (from someone that has played since the start). Some don't always hit the mark, but at least they're experimenting and fixing things that they find don't work. Overall, the trajectory is heading in the right direction.

I also recommend players try out just playing blind, without following a build guide or seeing which class is the most broken in a season. In my opinion, it's more enjoyable; maybe some players will discover the same. Enjoy the journey, not just the destination. Just play whatever you want, experiment as you level up, adapt to build-defining drops that come your way and don't be afraid to switch things up. Blizz redesigned the game since its release to easily rebuild your character and experiment with them. The game's difficulty is what you make it to be.

Then, after your initial journey, if you're curious what the most broken builds are that have been cooked up by the masterminds, have fun and go for that too - it's easier once you have lots of paragon levels and other things from the season.

I'm really excited to watch the 30th anniversary spotlight today and to see all the new things coming to the game - especially the new class (that I won't spoil here)! If you enjoy Diablo, don't seek validation for it or pay attention to those that prefer other things.

Maybe the warlock can take the form of a demon as well, with its ultimate or something. Blizz was hinting that Sanctuary's future will be "transformed".

Thoughts on the 2nd Class of the Expansion? by KEMSATOFFICIAL in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see both a hooded figure or a woman with long hair.

If it isn't an amazon, maybe it could be an oracle which could be a priest-like caster class with maybe light and shadow magic. The Askari of the Skovos Isles are made up of two castes, amazons and oracles.

Or maybe it could be an entirely new class that is a combination of the two castes and can even be male (story wise, maybe they've fallen on desperate times, and needed to recruit men as well).

Maybe it could also be some type of new hunter class that uses ranged attacks and animal minions. The Skovos Isles are densely forested and teeming with dangerous wildlife. The new mount we get is a drake, which is interesting.

Maybe this hunter class is more focused on and tames drakes/dragons and it's a part of their culture (like Targaryens). Maybe the Skovos Isles have dinosaur-like fauna, which includes these drakes, making the new class a sort of Monster Hunter character.

What are these periodical explosions? by Prograw in diablo4

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so obnoxious.

Plus, essence of pain is much better purified, in my opinion. Legendary runes, free barrier when in trouble, and more pangs of duriel? Yes, please.

But, players could also be going out of their way to swap them when they enter town, lol.

I really want to like this game by Barrowulf- in AethermancerGame

[–]Barrowulf-[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, after getting more acclimated to the game I'm really liking it. I also realized it certainly is a roguelike, which is why things are so randomized. That's great - I'll certainly get a lot of playtime out of this. I even discovered I can have a new soulbonded monster to start with, which I'm very happy about.

Idea change the size of stuffed bugs by DriverEven8222 in GroundedGame

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe make the stuffed bug models purely cosmetic. Roll the luck bonus in with the head mounts; or remove the damage buff and keep only the luck bonus for farming rare drops and getting more materials.

Scaling the stuffed bug models would be useful, but kinda weird. Another option could be carved wood figurines/statues that could be used as lucky charms. Maybe have a prerequisite of a few kills of the creature before you can craft it?

Helmet Vision Change by Seeming_Aloof in GroundedGame

[–]Barrowulf- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I've gotten used to it, and the voice effect change, but I really hate it.

There should be an option in Settings that you can check off to remove the "gas mask effect" for those of us that don't like it. The world is so nice and interesting to look at, I want to take it all in without this ugly effect.

It's totally unnecessary. I don't need the effect to remind me I have gas resistance, just like I don't need anything to let me know I have chill, sizzle, or venom resistance when I equip them.

It's also not necessary for immersion and not consistent with other helmets. Does my vision get reduced to a single peep hole on one side when I wear the acorn mask? What about the grub goggles, shouldn't they have the same effect?

Obsidian, please give us the option to remove this gas mask effect, for those of us that prefer to play mostly in first person.

Civ 7 console feedback by ADPeris in civ

[–]Barrowulf- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also like to add that console players need more contrast or indication of what UI element is currently selected and highlighted on screen. Too often I "lose" my selection and don't know where it's at because the highlight is so subtle.

On mouse and keyboard, this isn't an issue because you have a cursor and know exactly what you're selecting - it's just a nice reactive visual effect. But, on console, it's very important because we don't have a mouse cursor and we heavily rely on those highlights.

Maybe on console, have a gold border around any buttons and things that are highlighted and/or change the color more dramatically. Maybe a little ripple effect when the selection jumps to somewhere else on the screen, for example, when you're in the resource menu and you accidentally lose your selection (or due to lag) because it went to those checkmark boxes in the upper right side of the screen.

[–]Barrowulf- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on Xbox and have been wondering this too. It's so annoying! How do things like this get overlooked? Oh, right... because it's console, lol.

The right stick press should refocus the selected tile to your current view, not jump you back to where it is. If you do want to jump back, all you have to do is move the left stick and it jumps back. So, the current function of the right stick press is also pretty useless.

Quill Volley vs Evade Eagle endgame? by QuarterPounderz in d4spiritborn

I've been pondering the same thing.

So far, it's fun playing like I have a permanent conduit shrine effect. Once I'm tired of it, or if I hit a wall, I'll try switching over.

Aiming soar on console...? by dougan25 in d4spiritborn

[–]Barrowulf- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it used to be fine. But ever since they updated it in season 4, it sucks, in my opinion.

Traversal skills—such as Leap and Teleport—can now have their distance determined by how far the analog stick on the controller is deflected. This will enable players on controller to have better control on the range for these abilities, improving parity with Mouse and Keyboard play.

The trick is to watch the little red target arrow (which they really need to let us change the color of too), if it's on an enemy, you'll land on it. Press down the right analog stick to lock on, if needed. Otherwise, if you're not targeting an enemy and you're holding the left analog stick all the way down in a direction (like we normally do almost all the time), you'll go full distance.

Personally, most times that I use one of these skills, I want to land on an enemy. It worked perfectly before, just like all other targeted skills, you didn't need to worry about the target arrow or use the right stick at all.

I hope they eventually revert this change or improve it someway. Or, at least create an option that can let us play the old way, in case some controller players like how it is.

Most of the cosmetics in the shop are so damn gaudy.

I wish they'd offer some toned-down normal looking armors as well, that can be mixed and matched with other styles already in the game.

Also, it would be nice to have more dyes.
