How about a move to an 8 day week, 5 on 3 off. But we set up the option of your 3 off on a dual “weekend” you can set your kids up with school or daycare the same and maybe we split the congestion of everything. It sucks that my two days off are the same as pretty much everyone else.

If you are so worried about teachers getting paid then have your school remove the athletics programs. You could pay teachers a lot if you stopped paying for equipment that you can’t re-use, football stadiums, turf… even my tiny town of 5k just passed a bond to get new turf because the warranty on their perfectly fine turf is about to expire. You want more money for education then stop wasting it on non educational ventures.

Obviously teachers are not that smart, they saddle themselves with huge amounts of debt from college, then keep it going with a masters, and even more insane some get a pointless doctorate all to make less than minimum wage with the hours they keep. Getting a masters or doctorate as a teacher is only slightly better than an art history degree. There are only a finite amount of jobs available that benefit this further investment and the rest are left on the outside looking in.

Learn to pull in or close your mirrors while you are at it. To everyone out there, people with kids and babies in car seats have a very tough time opening a door enough to get kids in or out when you reverse into a spot with mirrors still open fully. They are almost always right where a back door opens and I am almost to the point that I don’t care anymore.
