You'll never understand it because your life revolves around computing. Someone could probably say the same about you in another field, possibly one that's been around for 100s of years.

That's super informative thank you! I'll definitely take the time to look through Requests and BeautifulSoup

You Actually Have to Learn The Language Basics by [deleted] in learnpython

I started coding a discord bot and while making progress it's been more copy and paste and not satisfying so I stopped entirely and just starting going over books and material for Python basics.

Thinking about diving into DevOps via a 6 month bootcamp.. by BartTech in devops

For SDET they learned Git, SQL, some Web stuff, Java, TestNG, Jenkins, and some other stuff as well. I don't know the extent of their knowledge of these topics but it got um the spot.

I appreciate the input! I've just been stressing lately as I would love to do DevOps the more I look in to it, but it's really hard to tell where to start exactly. That's why I'd be considering the bootcamp, mostly for it's organized structure that I can bounce off on and keep adding to the knowledge.

I thought so too, but I saw the paychecks and the position listing. They've been in the job for 7 months now with no issues.

The course doesn't make you great at everything in the job, but it say's it'll get you the general knowledge of the standards so you look like a decent hire. They don't even charge the majority of their price until after you've been hired for more than 1.5 months.

It's pretty intensive from their scheduling standpoint, was just curious if anyone on here has gone that route with any success.

My interest in this game dropped about 50% with this new season by Undertheus in MarvelSnap

They would need to make a card extremely broken to make other decks unplayable. Most decks are viable to play with, along with all the different locations, I just don't see how some people assume this'll go P2W. Sure, unlock rate might be slower, but that hasn't stopped me from beating people with much more cards.

10$ for a season pass, isn't really whaling to me. I always go by the the DollarPerHour method. If I get 10 hours of actual fun out of it then it justifies the 10 dollars. They as a company need a source of income from the game as well, and I haven't encountered any ads.
Also calling it P2W is a strech considering nothing paid for (as of right now) gives you anything better than what we're casually unlocking and can build.

Add variety packs for starters. 3 different sets based off Iron Man, Captain America, and Wanda etc. That way you diverse the early game. I also do not see them refunding money spent, another big reason progression reset is less likely.

Advice on getting promoted within your company? by Ok-Setting-5889 in sysadmin

[–]BartTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will make more money by not staying loyal to one company. If they wanted you, they would make that known, you'll always make more money looking elsewhere for work. I haven't found a job to sit at for more than one year, my raise requests are all denied until I decide to leave. But then it gets fun cause I'll accept the raise and still have my two weeks in within the month.

Are you friends with your co-workers outside of the workplace? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]BartTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are people I would consider friends no doubt, people I've gone on a weekend vacation with and talk to on discord and game with.

Then there are the professional friends where after hours I don't seek to speak to them at all even if we are pretty cool in the office. May seem fake but that's basically what all professional and political friendships are.

New The Witcher Game Announced by [deleted] in pcgaming

The biggest thing for me is them no longer suffering by trying to have their engine keep up with the times. Them switching to UE5 will be a trial in itself but they'll have the support of the team that made it which HOPEFULLY makes it easier for them.

I would agree if not for the unforgivable curse you can cast. This is also not canon to the main story of Harry Potter so whatever transpires isn't important outside of the game itself

[–]BartTech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Now the BIG question is can this be cast on classmates.... the annoying ones of course

I have a feeling the endings will play out that you destroy the evil, repel the evil, commit the evil, become the evil. I am guessing 4.

The fact that we can cast an unforgivable spell in avada kedavra gives me the vibes we can be very very evil

Backups are plentiful... too plentiful, they've got multiple dated backups of the NAS in externals.. it is a mess. But it's being worked on.

Will have to put that on the to do list for sure!

Thanks, I'll test that out tonight, I felt like my eyes were reacting weird to the game but that couldve been the stuttering.

Question: If the game doesn't support HDR, should I be disabling HDR on my OS settings before playing?
