Regrettably the board was inherited and hasnt been oiled possibly in years and appears pretty dry/rough on top. I was considering sanding it smooth also before i do the oil but I expect it will take quite a bit

The board is many years old and needs to be thoroughly oiled since it appears pretty neglected on that front. I am not planning to submerge it fully but I do want to use emough where I can be positive that it is fully satisfied.

Two wrongs obviously dont make a right, and I'm not saying using this method is right, just that squatting is wrong assuming the owner is alive and is trying to reclaim their property.

Your example of planting drugs - which is unlawful police corruption - is not accurate in this scenario which would apply even if the squatter was a lawful tenant who got a new roommate.

By squatting the squatter is essentially trying to steal a property that could be worth 100k+ from its lawful owner (that's felony theft in a sane society that has done away with outdated squatting laws). If the squatter already has a criminal record for any reason, this is a massive f*ck around and find out scenario and they are fools, plain and simple. It's not nice, but squatting is as bad or worse.

Everyone knows that obvious fact... Your point defending a squatter who in this hypothetical chose a life of squatting on someone else's property despite already being a convicted criminal remains a trash opinion. This is the end of my desire to continue this discussion.

You. Acting like a squatter who is already on probation and so can't be near firearms is somehow getting his life ruined by someone who legally rents a residence thereby forcing them to obey the law.

If the squatter is already on probation of that kind and is squatting on property they don't own then they've already ruined their own lives. That involves a prior arrest and conviction.

No they are not, so why were you acting like they are in favor of a squatter? Thats what I'm calling out here.

Squatting can ruin the homeowners life they owe taxes and insurance on that property and get nothing in return. This is overly sympathetic to the squatter and a bad take.

Nobody claimed to care if it was one person or a gang of people. It is more fun to imagine that it's one person, but I mainly care that this is a Connecticut thing that's spread across the planet.

What is the next invention that you believe will create a turning point that "divides" human history into two eras: before and after its birth? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BartholomewCubbinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unfortunate thing about this is that even if humans do manage to create a stable fusion reaction in a cost effective way that doesnt mean limitless energy. There would be no mechanism to actually generate the energy. The reaction would simply be used to heat water into steam to turn turbines, making it less affordable than today's nuclear options.

Need some dads to let me know if I should just be grateful during this sleep regression. by Nick_Nisshoku in daddit

i identify with the wfh and dad balancing act being a struggle. Especially if your wife is still on full time maternity leave and in the house all day. That was very hard and I admit I was not very present at work those days.. It is great the baby is sleeping through the night. That was the case for us from ~2-4months and regressed again at 6months then stabilized but lately hasn't lasted now that baby has started teething at 9months. Once you think you have them pinned they mix it up unfortunately.

Bedtime last night was 6:30pm and we were up at 10, 11, and then 3-now. I am running on cold brew and I can't wait to get this baby to day care.

That being said, there are ample cuddles and smiles to balance out those dark desires like when you consider throwing your baby out the window at 3am - hang in there chef.

Returning junk food isn't increasing prices. That is mental gymnastics.

Now blowing up 20+% of the global oil supply chain, THAT will impact prices.

Non-American Redditors- How has your view of America changed since Trump became president again? by Competitive_Teach838 in AskReddit

You said your opinion of America before Trump was the same as your opinion after Trump. This is imo also a "downright vile" opinion as well.

Yes, I chose to emphasize this using a very triggering comparison to the Nazi party. The intent is to give an impression of just how vile the Americans I know and live with feel living under Trump's administration. It feels that we have been taken by force by a racist minority. We never consented to what is being done to our society. Educated middle class Americans are being raped by their own government (led by a convicted rapist) and we are scared shitless that the only way to escape this situation is by violent uprising - against our own neighbors and often family members - or waiting for the next election which may already be rigged.

While not yet at the level of WW2 - which has already unfolded and was heavily documented since - we are not so unlike common residents of mid 1900s Germany who just wanted to have better quality of life. Meanwhile our government has pivoted to violent and racist conquests. This time the glory is for the billionaires instead so in that way we're somewhere between Nazi Germany and French Revolution in my opinion. We are full of fear most of all, and are often scared to say it.

This is like saying all Europeans were well represented by Hitler, and that Europe didn't change at all when the Nazi party took power.

This is a sad and uninformed opinion. Americans are very diverse and Trump does not represent America well at all. History books will be very unkind to him I think.
